Anderlecht are looking dangerous, and go close again as Sacha Kljestan hurdles one tackle to get a shot away, but Wojciech Szczesny makes himself big and blocks well.

Liverpool's best moment as Adam Lallana sets Lazar Markovic away on the break. He is one-on-one with Raphael Varane and takes him on for pace, but the young Frenchman steps on the gas to effortlessly sweep it up.

That was good enough in the end from Kolo Toure! Not graceful, but effective. The centre-half looks in trouble as Luka Modric plays a pass down the side of him, Karim Benzema tries to latch on to it but Toure just about gets his backside in the way and shuts him off.

Real stepping it up a gear now as James Rodriguez pulls the ball down with a sensational touch.

There are positive starts for the basement boys in the Championship, as Birmingham City and Brighton both take the lead within the opening two minutes.

Brighton are without a win in 11 games in the league, but Gary Gardner's early strike has given them the lead at home to Wigan.

Patrick Bamford has given Middlesbrough the lead against Norwich in the evening's top of the table clash, while Jordon Ibe has put Derby one up against in-form Huddersfield. Steve McClaren's men are looking to get back on track after losing their last two.

Almost the goal the play deserved at Arsenal - brilliant run from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, committing two defenders and driving through a barely visible gap. He picks out Aaron Ramsey, who spins and leathers in a shot which is brilliantly diverted away by a sliding defender.

That is close! Anderlecht inches away from the opener as Dennis Praet lines up a shot from 20 yards, it hits the ankles of Per Mertesacker and spins just past the near post. So nearly the breakthrough!
