  3. Manager reactionpublished at 22:29 British Summer Time 18 September 2014

Everton manager Roberto Martinez speaking to ITV Sport: "We have been speaking about the return of European nights and it was phenomenal to see the fans supporting the team. To finish with that performance and scoreline was fantastic.

"Wolfsburg are full of energy and will press you high up and we were magnificent engaging with that, playing through it and finding the gaps. It was an open game with two teams who wanted to get on the ball and use their attacking players.

"We have worked hard for 12 months to earn the right to play in the Europa League. The more competitions the better, because we have 25 professionals who can play and six and seven youngsters who are ready to help out the first team."

Leighton Baines, speaking to ITV Sport: We are made up with that. To score four gaols like that is great. Myself and Seamus Coleman have licence to get forward when people fill in behind us from midfield.

Sometimes we both go, at other times one of us stays. We are getting that balance right.

"We are excited to be in this competition. We are looking forward to these nights, travelling around Europe. We want to get out of this group and go a long way in this group."

The full-back curls a peach of a free-kick over the wall and the ball dings in off the inside of the near post to find the net.
