Andy in Armagh via text: Great to see Gareth Barry starting in a game in Europe again. Solid midfielder, great to see that he has been able to restart his career.
Sheelagh via text: Steven Naismith, goal machine!
Everton are building dangerously again, but Kevin Mirallas's cross is hit with hope and Romelu Lukaku has not made the run that he gambled on.
Crystal Palace midfielder Barry Bannan, , externalwho is also a Scotland team-mate of Steven Naismith: "Buzzing for Naisy. This guy is on fire, deserves everything he gets."
A half-hearted one, but a penalty appeal nonetheless.
Romelu Lukaku's cushioned flick-on invites Steven Naismith forward and the former Rangers man is already on his bike. The ball is never quite under his control though and when he flops to the floor between two Wolfsburg defenders there is not enough for ref Luca Banti to act upon.
Max Welford:, external Naismith might be one of the most underrated footballers in the Premier League. He's got pace, strength and an eye for the goal, great.
Ricardo Rodriguez again gets his head up out wide, but his arrowed cross is just in front of Ivica Olic with Tim Howard claiming the ball. Seamus Coleman needs to get tighter to the Wolfsburg left-back.
Gonzalo Higuain has scored a penalty to pull Napoli level with Sparta Prague. Marek Hamsik's effort came back off the bar and Jose Callejon's effort was blocked by Costa Nhamoinesu's arm.
Wolfsburg full-back Ricardo Rodriguez has a left peg so educated it holds honorary professor positions at three universities back in Germany. His raking cross fails to pick out one of three men bombing on, but that was better with more bodies in the box for the visitors.
Joseph Reade:, external The Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking possesses quite the pair of eyebrows...
Indeed so, one of the finest pairs in football. Look at the arch on that.
Ivica Olic pumps a cross across the face of goal, but there is no-one in the middle on the end of it.
That is the Bendtner zone. Get the big man on.
Everton are crowbarring the Wolfsburg defence at will. Aidan McGeady is the latest Everton player to see the whites of Diego Benaglio's eyes, firing into the goalkeeper's shins from 15 yards.
Romelu Lukaku bulldozes his way past Ricardo Rodriguez, but from an acute angle, the £28m man goes for power, loses his footing and scoops the ball clear over the top.
Josef Husbauer has given Sparta Prague a surprise 1-0 lead over Rafael Benitez's Napoli and Grzegorz Krychowiak has given Sevilla an early breakthrough against Feyenoord.
PAOK Salonika are off to a flyer against Dinamo Minsk, with a Nemanja Nikolic own goal and two goals from Stefanos Athanasiadis giving the Greek side a 3-0 advantage.
Tim Oliver:, external Steven Naismith has been like a new signing for Everton this year
A lovely goal. Lovely, but also a little lucky.
Steven Naismith starts the move, beating his man and slipping the ball to James McCarthy. The former Wigan man turns the ball round the corner to a rampaging Leighton Baines. Baines back to Naismith, whose stabbed effort finds its way into the back of the net only after Ricardo Rodriguez's attempted clearance cannons into the back of his own goalkeeper Diego Benaglio.
The ball was heading away from goal before it struck the unfortunate Benaglio, who had to leave the field shortly afterwards to sort his contact lens out.
Romelu Lukaku is working the channels and gets his reward as he earns Everton's first corner. The Toffees can't make anything of it though as Kevin Mirallas wastes a good short routine.
Lee Pickrell:, external I see Micah Richards is warming up another bench ... where did it all go wrong?
Richards is on the bench for Fiorentina today after joining them on transfer deadline day from Manchester City.
Everton survive, but don't make a decisive clearance and former Chelsea man Kevin de Bruyne almost makes something out of the ball bobbling round the edge of the box. His shot thunders into a defender and it was fortunate for Everton it didn't get any further.
Junior Malanda wins a the first corner of the game off Gareth Barry. An early aerial test coming up...
