Stunning again from Abel Hernandez. He scored with his right foot, but this time he has a go with his left as he smashes a volley that requires an equally impressive save by Adrian. On tonight's showing, Hernandez and Enner Valencia are two very welcome additions to the Premier League.

Tom Huddlestone slides in on Cheikhou Kouyate, taking the West Ham defender's legs and earning himself a yellow card. Stewart Downing clips the subsequent free-kick into the area and Winston Reid flicks the ball on, but Hull keeper Allan McGregor gets to the ball before any West Ham players.

What. A. Goal! It is clearly a case of anything you can do I can do better with the big-money signings on show tonight. Enner Valencia outshines Abel Hernandez's opener as he runs square along the edge of the Hull area, opens up a bit of space for himself before curling an absolute stunner from all of 25 yards. Lovely stuff.

As things stand, West Ham are going on form - none of their last 18 Premier League games have ended level (W8 L10). Plenty of time for them yet, though, as they get the second half under way.

Two shots on target for Hull City, both from the impressive Abel Hernandez. West Ham are seeing plenty of the ball but not doing a lot with it. If Sam Allardyce wanted a bigger goal threat from his side, he is not seeing that so far tonight.

Fantastic stuff again from Abel Hernandez as he wraps his foot around a shot from 25 yards that smacks against the crossbar, Nikica Jelavic is quick to react and head home the rebound but he is offside and it won't count. Much more urgency from both sides, just what the game needed.
