Some ironic cheers from Newcastle fans as Hull score another screamer! Mohamed Diame turns away from Daryl Janmaat 25 yards from goal, he takes aim with his left foot and crunches in with his left foot, the ball kissing the inside of the post on its way in.

A cracking goal which may have repercussions for Alan Pardew.

This is better from Newcastle, they are having a real go but Hull look solid enough at the back. Newcastle have not played particularly badly today - but they're still losing.

The home side are belatedly creaking into life. A corner makes its way through to Ciaran Clark but his shot is well charged down by a yellow shirt, if Villa can get one back now then you never know...

What a miss! Hull should be 2-0 up as Tom Huddlestone hits a free-kick into the wall, it runs into the path of Stephen Quinn who is only six yards out but somehow shovels it wide!

Dreadful finish. A change of luck for Alan Pardew?

Alex Calder:, external Newcastle isn't the club I started supporting as a kid. No direction. No passion. No excitement. Just a poorly run business.

Adam Palethorpe:, external Fans are short-sighted. A win at Villa Park and all our problems are solved? Didn't know one result made a season.

Jonatan L:, external I feel like Ozil and Welbeck need to combine for another three goals today or Wenger will just move back when Wilshere is fit.

"Newcastle's reaction has been good. Remy Cabella had another fantastic opportunity, he picked his spot from 20 yards but hit it too close to the keeper. But it was a great incisive move - it is chalk and cheese from this week to last week."

  15. Manager reactionpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 20 September 2014

QPR manager Harry Redknapp: "It was a vital point for us in the end. When you're 2-1 down with just five minutes to go you're delighted to come away with a point.

"It was a difficult day, it's been difficult all week. Joey Barton hadn't trained much, Jordon Mutch hadn't trained for two weeks and Sandro was injured on Friday.

"We were short in some areas but I thought we showed great character to keep going. It's good for the spirit that we didn't lose."

"Some great passages of passing from Arsenal - 20 or 30, just popping the ball around. And Philippe Senderos isn't the quickest of defenders, so if Danny Welback can isolate him then he'll fancy his chances."

    Former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks
    Final Score

"In the modern game quality costs money and there is no doubt about the quality of Mesut Ozil. What you will see tonight on Match of the Day is first a superbly taken goal, taken like a clinical finisher, then the most exquisite ball played in to allow Danny Welbeck to finish it first time. Welbeck too now seems to have found his mojo and could start to play really well for Arsenal."

"Hull manager Steve Bruce tossed his water bottle high in the air in celebration when Nikica Jelavic swivelled to volley home Hull's opener, and the Tigers fans were soon singing his name.

"Alan Pardew did not have to wait long for Newcastle supporters to start chanting his too, along with the words 'we want' and 'out'. He remains standing in his technical area, as he has done for the entire game, but he might want to put on his tin hat."
