Arsenal's formation has been fairly fluid but Mesut Ozil, who started the game plating further out wide than he did against Aston Villa, has struggled to make an impact. Most of his passes in the first half were to team-mate Aaron Ramsey, with few forward efforts. Plenty of time yet though.

Rich, Tottenham: Erik Lamela loses the ball way too much for someone that cost more than £5m ( he cost over £30m!)

Matt Cartwright:, external If Emmanuel Adebayor had been more awake we'd be one up by now. He doesn't seem that bothered at the moment.

Dax Fulbrook:, external Nacer Chadli is the worst. No composure. No skill. No passion.

"A decent half. Both sides have contributed. It was a sharp opening from Arsenal, taking the game to the more defensive Tottenham who were playing on the counter-attack. That tactic started to work for Spurs as the half wore on, but neither side created more than a half chance."

Daniel Jones:, external What exactly are Arsenal's training methods? They can't seem to go a single game without a player picking up an injury.

"Arsenal complain to the referee that they should have had a penalty, while Emmanuel Adebayor missed the best chance for Tottenham.

"But Spurs' Hugo Lloris has been the busiest of the two goalkeepers.

"On a weekend of Ryder Cup action, it's a half each at the break."

"Lively without being a classic and some encouragement for both sides - Arsenal suffering from having to reshuffle their midfield after injuries to Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey. Jack Wilshere also limping after a heavy knock."

The whistle goes for half-time and it is goalless. Not a classic compared to some over the years, but there were chances, particularly towards the end of the half.

Emmanuel Adebayor connects well with a ball into the box to strike a first-time effort goalwards, but Wojciech Szczesny is on hand to push the ball behind.

Disappointment for Aaron Ramsey as he is down on the ground, signalling to come off. Santi Cazorla comes on to replace the midfielder, whose frustration is clear as he limps towards the Arsenal dugout.

"This match has really started to ebb and flow, and Spurs have gained some confidence from somewhere. Tottenham are attacking and Arsenal look flustered, having been thrown off their stride.

"These are the important spells, when as the visiting team you've got to turn the screw and make sure that if a half-chance comes along when you're in the ascendancy, like Spurs are now, you take it."

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 18:15 British Summer Time 27 September 2014

Lovely stuff from Aaron Ramsey as he smartly flicks the ball away from a Tottenham defender, passes to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, whose dipping effort is well saved by Hugo Lloris.

At the other end, Nacer Chadli races away and has just Wojciech Szczesny to beat, but scuffs his shot wide to the sound of ironic cheers from the home fans.

Per Mertesacker's blushes are spared as the Arsenal defender powers a Tottenham corner towards his own goal, but Wojciech Szczesny is quick to react and save from his own team-mate.

Better from Tottenham as Emmanuel Adebayor is put through but his first touch takes him away from Wojciech Szczesny and Arsenal are able to shut off the gap before Adebayor can get his shot off.

Aaron Ramsey is the busiest player on the pitch at the moment, he has had 39 touches, more than any other player. Emmanuel Adebayor, perhaps highlighting how rare Tottenham have attacked, has had just eight, his latest touch being to spray a pass out wide and out of touch.

Thankfully it seems that the slow-motion television replays made the tackle on Jack Wilshere look worse that it may actually have been. He is back on the pitch and good to continue.

Big concern for Arsenal as Jack Wilshere is down injured after taking a whack to the ankle inside the Tottenham area. He limps to the sideline, but the injury looks particularly nasty on television replays.
