Salzburg defender Andre Ramalho will play with a splint on his hand after the Brazilian broke a finger at the weekend.
Peter Gulacsi replaces Alexander Walke in the Salzburg goal, while Andreas Ulmer has recovered from injury to take Peter Andkersen's spot in defence after Saturday's defeat by Wolfsberger.
That 1-0 defeat meant that the Austrian champions relinquished their place at the top of the Austrian Budesliga for the first time in 43 matches at the weekend, with Wolfsberger, establishing a three-point lead.
Austrian defender Andreas Ulmer has recovered from a knock to start for Salzburg, while midfielder Naby Keita, who was also an injry doubt, has been deemed fit enough for the bench.
Celtic continue to be without the versatile Charlie Mulgrew, winger James Forrest and defenders Mikael Lustig and Adam Matthews through injury.
On-loan Aston Villa winger Aleksandar Tonev drops to the bench after being the subject of a Scottish FA investigation after claims of a racist remark towards the Dons' Shay Logan.
