Kallum Higginbotham plays a one-two with Steven Lawless to dart into the penalty area. The Partick Thistle midfielder needs to get the head down and put the laces through it but instead miscues horribly with a side-foot effort and the ball is rolling out for a throw-in.

Here's a snap of Callum Ball's leveller. And thoroughly merited it is too after a much-improved second-half display from St Mirren.

St Mirren super-sub Callum Ball is in the mood as he steals a yard to get in behind the home defence and his shot is deflected wide by the outstretched leg of a defender.

Calum in Kirkcaldy: "Jags performing well so far and could cause a few upsets this season. If they get past the Saints on Tuesday could be a good cup run too. 'Mon the Harry Wraggs!!"

Classic timing with your message Calum.

St Mirren Official on Twitter: "Dig out those game of two halves cliches as this game has turned on its head since the break."

I've sorted that spelling for you...

  8. GOALpublished at 21:02 British Summer Time 19 September 2014

The Buddies are level as a wonderful Jereon Tesselaar cross from deep catches the home side on the hop and there is Callum Ball sliding in to guide the ball in with the outside of his boot. Lovely finish.

Anonymous: "Six defeats in a row at any level is not good enough. 45 years of experience is not cutting it and I'm afraid that Tommy has to go and get replaced by someone with more modern views on the game and can get more out of the current squad. I appreciate we will always be fighting at the bottom of the league but 0 wins and 1 goal is poor no matter what way you want to spin it."

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:55 British Summer Time 19 September 2014

A double change for St Mirren, with James Marwood and Gregg Wylde trotting off to be replaced by Callum Ball and Thomas Reilly.

After a lengthy delay, John McGinn curls in the free kick, prompting another unconventional save from Scott Fox. It looked like an easy catch but the Jags keeper went for a double-handed punch.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 19 September 2014

Stuart Bannigan is cautioned for a lunge at Jim Goodwin just as the St Mirren skipper was ploughing into the penalty box with real determination. Much better from the Buddies.

Gary Teale beats his man to see some daylight behind the home defence but the St Mirren winger's cross is headed clear, with an off-balance Kenny McLean shooting wide from the loose ball.

Just before the restart, BBC Scotland's Chick Young reminds his fellow St Mirren fans that the Paisley club's next two games are against Celtic and Aberdeen. I'm not sure that's helping...

"St Mirren need to work at getting their full-backs forward but even if they do manage to get into good positions there is no height in the team to get on the end of crosses."

There are 3821 souls at Firhill this evening and most of them will be pleased as Partick Thistle lead. There has been some crisp passing from the Jags and they are definitely the sharper side in the final third but St Mirren are by no means out of it at just one goal behind.
