Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri frantically shouts and waves instructions to his players from the touchline. They are seconds away from a vital win...
Four minutes of stoppage time. Surely, surely, there isn't another twist in the tale?
Uh oh. It is all kicking off. Juve striker Alvaro Morata slides in on Roma defender Kostas Manolas, who loses the plot completely as he pushes, shoves and goes head to head with the Spaniard.
That sparks a 30-man melee involving virtually every player on the pitch and plenty of those stood in both technical areas. The result? Red cards apiece for Morata and Manolas.
A goal worthy of winning any match. Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci shows the technique of a seasoned striker to blast the home side ahead. A home corner is cleared by Roma only as far as the Italy international, who keeps his eye on the ball and expertly volleys into the bottom corner.
Juventus almost nick it! Substitute Alvaro Morata climbs above the Roma defence to meet Stephan Lichtsteiner's teasing right-wing cross. Roma keeper Lukasz Skorupski remains rooted to the Turin turf and is grateful to see the Spaniard's effort clip the top of his crossbar.
End to end as both sides search for a winner. Juventus press at one end before Roma substitute Destro's intended pass to Florenzi is cut out at the other. Can anyone force a fifth goal?
Ooof! Almost a fourth penalty of the match. Roma forward Gervinho skips down the right channel of the box and Kwadwo Asamoah almost - almost - sticks out a dangerous foot. He reigns himself in and then watches Gervinho unable to dig out a telling cross.
Whistles rain down from the home stands as Roma skipper Francesco Totti is given a well-earned breather. Most 38-year-old's are sat on the sofa with their feet up and a beer in hand on a Sunday, not chasing around the champions of Italy.
He's done his job though, bagging a goal, and generally upsetting the Juve defence. Mattia Destro, who scored from the halfway line for Roma last weekend, is the fresh pair of legs.
While the noise in the stands remains high, the tempo on the pitch has dropped. But only slightly. Instead of the game being played at 150mph, it is now at a pedestrian-in-comparison 110mph. Juventus enjoying a little spell on top, substitute Alvaro Morata slashes a shot wide from distance.
Dyed blond mohawks are all the rage among Italian-based footballers it appears. Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba and Roma counterpart Radja Nainggolan create their own version of 'Last of the Mohicans'...
Here's Roma's first change. Italy attacking midfielder Alessandro Florenzi, who - brilliantly - was booked recently for celebrating a goal with his nan at the Stadio Olimpico, replaces goalscorer Juan Iturbe.
If I was a betting man, I genuinely wouldn't know where to stick my last pound. Roma press again, Totti twisting and turning in the left channel but can't find the decisive pass.
First roll of the tactical dice is thrown by Juve. Boss Massimiliano Allegri throws on young Spanish forward Alvaro Morata, signed from Real Madrid in the summer, in place of his compatriot Fernando Llorente.
It could be 3-2, 2-3 or 3-3! Both sides waste decent chances in quick succession. Juventus striker Carlos Tevez is denied by Kostas Manolas' last-ditch sliding challenge at one end, then Miralem Pjanic scuffs wide of the home goal after Gervinho dances around their defence.
Roma start to settle down and neatly keep possession as they try to frustrate Juve. Whistles greet every Giallorossi pass.
France midfielder Paul Pogba is starting to find some holes in the Roma backline as he drives forward again. He blazes high over the away goal, but is looking increasingly influential.
Opta Paolo:, external Before Juventus v Roma, the last Serie A game with three penalties conceded was played in February 2013 (Cagliari vs Torino).
It has also been confirmed that, among all that first-half furore, Roma boss Rudi Garcia was banished to the stands after rowing with referee Gianluca Rocchi about Juventus's first penalty.
Normal service resumes. Juve midfielder Paul Pogba gallops forward but is just an outstretched toe from turning in a third for Juventus. Then, Roma hit straight back with a quick break. However, Gervinho can't pick out a Giallorossi shirt as the home side hack clear.
Two minutes into the second half and nothing has happened. This game is rubbish...
