"It was so well-worked for Markovic, with Coutinho and Henderson involved and Lambert spinning off wide. But Markovic, on his weaker left foot, never looked comfortable. Not quite happening for Liverpool in and around the penalty area."
Sanjay Pankhania:, external Fabio Borini is only a 23-year-old, and should be giving more game time. Works hard always come on Mr Rodgers give the boy more games!
Nick Locke:, external I feel Liverpool are just finding their feet after a hangover from last season. It's been stodgy and stuttering but not a crisis.
Shaune Green:, external I hope Liverpool will win without Mario Balotelli. But we need a Karim Benzema or a Edison Cavani.
Big chance for Liverpool to double our League Cup tally for the evening. But summer signing Lazar Markovic wastes a golden opportunity to break his Reds duck, slicing horribly wide when well placed.
I told you to stick with us! We have a goal... Moussa Dembele capitalising on Craig Forsyth's horrible backpass to round the keeper and slot into an empty goal. What a horrible mistake from the Derby man.
Still no goals. Stick with us. Don't start flicking through that TV planner.
Spanish right-back Javi Manquillo is Liverpool's greatest attacking threat at the moment - pouring forward at every opportunity. His surging run forces a home corner, which then comes to nothing. Still all Liverpool but they are still yet to stretch Swans keeper Gerhard Tremmel.
Chelsea need to keep an eye on this Mickey Demetriou fella. The Shrewsbury left-back is galloping down the flank and has just shown he also has a long throw in his locker. Something for Jose to think about?

"Swansea are just sitting off Liverpool, perhaps trying to break them down on the counter attack."
West Brom appear to have got off the hook as a corner swings into their area and Craig Dawson seems to jump for the ball with his hands leading the way.
The ball is cleared but there are few protests such was the melee. It looks like he misjudged his leap and Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe will certainly be intrigued by the replay for that one.

"Shrewsbury have got pace at the back which is why they are being so positive, they are not frightened of Chelsea's threat on the counter attack. You could look at these two teams and not know who was the Premier League side. This a very level game."
I've just seen Didier Drogba's defending from a Shrewsbury corner again and he appeared to get the ball under control with the help of his arms. I've seen them given...
Didier Drogba is Chelsea's best defender at the moment - mopping up from a corner and driving forward before playing a sublime ball through to Mohamed Salah who picks out Andre Schurrle in the penalty area, but the German wastes possession by laying the ball off for a runner who doesn't materialise.
Nice touch as the Anfield crowd give ex-Red Jonjo Shelvey a warm round of applause as the Swansea man takes a corner for the visitors. And he returns the generosity by delivering a poor set-piece which is cleared by Dejan Lovren.

"Liverpool are controlling the game and controlling possession. They are playing further up the pitch and not just keeping possession in their own half. It has been a very good start by Liverpool."

Fulham should probably be ahead at Craven Cottage. Elsad Zverotic's pass finds Moussa Dembele, who flicks the ball past his marker and shoots but his effort is saved by Derby keeper Kelle Roos.
Mark Evitts:, external 9am on a wet Auckland morning - do not disturb sign on my desk - heart and soul in Shrewsbury. Come on Salop.
Dennis Waithera:, external Shrewsbury are really enjoying playing on their turf. But they must take their chances if they get them.
Mickey Demetriou sounds like some sort of east-end gangster, but he's actually a flying League Two full-back and he twice gets an opportunity to put in balls to the back stick from the left. Chelsea are not picking up his overlapping runs and might yet pay the price.
A decent chance at Stadium MK for the home side. Jordan Spence's cross finds Dean Bowditch at the far post but his volleyed effort is saved by Sheffield United keeper Mark Howard. It remains a tight affair between these two League One rivals.
Liverpool are warming to their task nicely. Excellent play from Philippe Coutinho who skips past a couple of players but Lucas' shot is straight at Swans understudy keeper Gerhard Tremmel. That's the best chance of the early stages.
Moments later, Lazar Markovic sets up an another attack but Rickie Lambert cannot test Tremmel again.
