Marcus Tongue:, external What a shame to see Petr Cech only being used for the likes of Shewsbury. Off in January I'd say.

Abu Ali:, external Disappointing to see Mohamed Salah chose to become a bit part player at Chelsea after being a key player at Basel.

Peter Collins:, external Shrewsbury are unlucky in their luck. Many Premier League teams would struggle against the set pieces of lower leagues. But not Chelsea!

"You're only here because of Chelsea," taunts the away following. Not true really. We all know Elton John concerts sell out in Shrewsbury too (18:10).

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is the forgotten man at Anfield. But he is desperate to make an impression tonight, racing towards the Swansea goal before he is chopped down just outside the penalty area.

Rickie Lambert - a man known during his time at Southampton for smashing a free-kick into the onion bag - stands over the ball, but skipper-for-the-night Jordan Henderson pulls rank. And he balloons it high over the bar.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2014

Bournemouth have willing runners so far in this game. In the early exchanges, a mazy Adam Smith run almost created a goal and this time it is Junior Stanislas bursting through midfield to feed Tokelo Rantie. His strike is fizzed from an angle and parried out by Boaz Myhill.

Come on, lads. Where's our first goal of the evening coming from?

It's proper rain at Shrewsbury now, but the pitch is holding up pretty well so far. Shame really... there's something quite exciting about a cup tie being played in the mud. Shrewsbury continue to keep Chelsea at arm's length - Nathan Ake driving into the penalty area but over-running the ball.

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2014

This one is fairly even but a Youssouf Mulumbu drive from 25 yards tests Bournemouth goalkeeper Lee Camp. The strike finds itself through a forest of legs but Camp is equal to it and gathers the loose ball at the second attempt.

A couple of half-chances for Sheffield United at Stadium MK. Bob Harris charges into the MK Dons box but his pull back for Stefan Scougall is intercepted and cleared by Dele Alli. Soon after, Tom Flanagan is on hand to deny the Blades again by blocking Ben Davies' cross towards Marc McNulty.

BBC Radio 5 live sports extra at Anfield

"Liverpool have to take a huge positive from the clean sheet that they got against Hull at the weekend. You expect them to create chances and score goals.

"Swansea are playing really well at the moment. I saw them playing against Leicester and they were outstanding, and such a threat going forward. Jefferson Montero on the left is very inconsistent but has these sparks of five or 10 minutes where he can cause teams problems."

Dennis Waithera:, external Didier Drogba, at 36, is starting his second game in a few days. And still 19-year-old players are complaining of tiredness?

    Conor McNamara
BBC Radio 5 live commentator at the Greenhous Meadow

"Jose Mourinho is wearing a tracksuit on the touchline at the Greenhous Meadow. It's strange, but for some reason he doesn't seem quite as intimidating when he's not in a suit."

Bobby Grant has been banging them in for fun in the lower leagues down the years and he drives through the rain to lash a shot just over the Chelsea bar. I feel for the Shrewsbury lads tonight, though - how are they expected to beat Petr Cech. Probably the best second-choice keeper in the world?

"I wonder how long Didier Drogba can last for Chelsea? He played the full 90 minutes against Manchester United on Sunday and I bet Jose Mourinho will have one eye on taking him off on the hour mark. But you just don't know how these games pan out."

Shrewsbury are in their home blue kit tonight, with Chelsea in bright yellow. Never a good look. Even on world-class footballers, although it's not as bad as Newcastle's green effort at White Hart Lane last weekend...

  19. Postpublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2014

Not much to report from MK Dons, other than that the crowd looks a lot less sizeable than when Manchester United were in town. Do the Blades not have the same pull?

  20. Postpublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 28 October 2014

    Phil Brown
BBC 5 live pundit at the Greenhous Meadow

"The determination in the Shrewsbury players in these early stages is there for all to see. And they will always be a threat from corners and set-pieces."
