On Chelsea after the leaders' 2-0 victory over West Brom: "They're miles ahead. The best team in the Premier League and I think they'll win it by a mile.

"They didn't start brilliantly against West Brom but they started to get balls into the box and Diego Costa thrives on that."

Before we conclude this early segment of Sunday's football live text, I guess I have to mention new champions... I mean leaders Chelsea.

They cruised a 2-0 win over 10-man West Brom on Saturday, Diego Costa scored again and Mourinho again played down the fact his side are outstanding title favourites.

Plucky (champions) Manchester City managed their second win in seven games with a 2-1 win over Swansea.

Football folk have been a little bit critical of Manuel Pellegrini's men of late, but at the start of Saturday they had two more points than they had at this stage in last season's title-winning campaign.

Here's the bad news - they are eight points behind Chelsea. Match of the Day's Alan Shearer isn't impressed by them either.

Over in Scotland, Rangers need to get inspired by somebody or something soon - they are nine points behind leaders Hearts in the Scottish Championship after losing 2-0 to them on Saturday.

Gers manager Ally McCoist believes the gap is "not insurmountable". Hmmm...

On West Ham defender James Tomkins, who went down clutching his face after Everton's Kevin Mirallas pushed him in the chest: "It's embarrassing. I did something similar in a cup final once, to try to gain an advantage. I look back on it and I was embarrassed and humiliated. It's not something you want to see."

Alan Shearer on Match of the Day

On Stoke City winger Victor Moses' apparent dive against Burnley: "I've given him the benefit of the doubt previously but I can't protect him at all on this occasion. Plain and simple, it's a dive. He thinks he's going to get hit by Michael Duff but the tackle doesn't come, he just goes down anyway.

"Why Martin Atkinson didn't show him a yellow card, I'm not sure. It's not nice to see."

On Everton's Ross Barkley, who took a tumble during Everton's 2-1 win over West Ham: "He's very guilty of a dive and you could see he's embarrassed because he gets up half a second later. Hopefully he'll learn from it because we don't want to see that."
