  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2014

Martin Skrtel gets up and jogs back towards his own goal after a cynical body check on Marouane Chamakh up around halfway.

He can't convince Jon Moss that it was just a run-of-the-mill foul though. He is called back to collect his yellow card.

This looks like what the pre-game form lines suggested. Two out-of-sorts sides, short on confidence, struggling to put together a semblance of a gameplan. It is not impressive from either.

Former QPR striker Bradley Allen: "Liverpool are trying to stretch Palace by spreading the play from one flank to another. They're trying to pull Palace players out of position to open space up through the middle."

Steven Gerrard's brow furrow gets a fraction deeper. The Liverpool captain takes on a free-kick from 25 yards, but his effort just keeps rising and rising, thumping into the Palace fans behind Julian Speroni's goal.

    Sue Smith
    Former England forward

"England's record against Germany is awful but it's a new era now. They've qualified for the World Cup easily and they are looking forward to getting a result against Germany. It's a real test to see how far the girls have come. It's sometimes a psychological hurdle to face Germany and one they can hopefully overcome. At Wembley with 55,000 it will be a big occasion, and hopefully the crowd can get behind them. I think they will play up to the crowd and get a result."

Ashley in Plymouth: Those blaming the sale of Luis Suarez forget the run Liverpool had while he was banned at the start of last season. It's Daniel Sturridge we're really missing.

Jack in Lancaster: Suarez wanted to go. Nothing to do with Brendan Rodgers. Too many fair weather fans moaning. Get behind the team.

Scott in Warrington: The difference between this season and last season for Liverpool is that we previously could rely on outscoring teams even if we conceded - anyone remember the 6-3 game against Cardiff? Now, we can barely score, and there seems no chance of keeping a clean sheet, so where on earth should the money in January be focused?

    Good shout Madan (see 14:25).

I was just looking at Raheem Sterling's first-half numbers and they are a bit puny.

He has had only 18 touches (Liverpool's joint lowest total) created no chances and won only one of five 50:50 contests with a Palace player.

Here are his first-half touches mapped out for you to muse over:

Sean O'Se:, external I think it is time to drop Steven Gerrard though. These were always the decisions Sir Alex Ferguson always got right at Manchester United.

Madan Roka:, external Raheem Sterling has been almost invisible out there for me. I wonder if the workload is having an effect perhaps?

Yullaw:, external Sterling is an overrated player. In two years I think he will decline into obscurity.

Liverpool had plenty of the ball, but Rickie Lambert's second-minute goal is their only effort on target.

  15. Crystal Palace 1-1 Liverpoolpublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2014

    BBC Radio London 94.9

Former QPR striker Bradley Allen: "It's been a contrast of styles with the two sides - Liverpool intricate with their passing and movement and Palace a lot more direct. Yannick Bolasie, in particular, has been outstanding for Palace and caused Javier Manquillo all sorts of problems."

"It was a wonderful start for Liverpool and Rickie Lambert. Palace regained their composure and came straight back at them. Liverpool again not having things their way at Selhurst Park."

What a ball! Jason Puncheon takes Javier Manquillo out of the equation with a superb ball in behind the right-back. Yannick Bolasie is scampering in behind, but his first-time shot from a tight angle is a flier, clearing the bar.

Liverpool's defence looks the nervier of the two out there. Once again, some players press, some stand off and Joel Ward finds a pocket of space to send a skimming shot into Simon Mignolet's midriff from 25 yards.

    Two minutes added time.

Andrew: Selling Luis Suarez is proving to be a disaster. He not only supplied all goal opportunities but give us an extra defender by making teams think twice about exposing their backs with open attack. This is going to cost Brendan Rodgers his job.

Roy: The top managers, at the top clubs talk of "only signing players who will improve what they already have". Brendan Rodgers has done the opposite - spending millions on players no better or even worse than what's already at the club!

Mo: I've said it a million times and will say it again, Rodgers is clueless. In Glen Johnson and Dejan Lovren your offered nothing but defensive errors, Joe Allen and Raheem Sterling are playing poorly, and we have no good striking options. What was the transfer market for again?
