Michael O'Halloran looks lively as he makes towards the Rangers goal but an extra touch takes him wide and his shot is wide. Five minutes to go...and maybe 30 minutes more.
Rangers begin to crank up the pressure but the game could go either way. Lewis Macleod hits a shot wide of the target from the left of the box.
Lee McCulloch heads beyond Alan Mannus from an Ian Black free-kick but is ruled offside. He and John Daly broke beyond the red and black Saints line too soon.
St Johnstone midfielder Chris Millar, a player who loves to get involved in all areas of the pitch, ends a promising move by his team, as Lee Croft and Dave Mackay combine down the right and Millar picks up possession, drives at goal and skies a left-foot shot wide of the target.
Stuart Ritchie: "For all @FraserAird has contributed to this game he would have been better staying at home and watching Coronation Street #bbcscotfootball"
The Battle of Lees... St Johnstone midfielder Lee Croft crashes into the back of Rangers defender Lee Wallace out at the corner flag and from the resultant free-kick big John Daly, on for Kris Boyd, heads an effort off the post.
Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd combine well up front for Rangers with the former leaping to head down for his bearded team-mate. Boyd lashes a shot at goal but Saints defender Frazer Wright recovers his position well to make a crucial block with an outstretched leg.
David McCallion on Facebook:, external "Watching the game tonight and just wanted to comment on the lack of fans. I understand the fans are not happy with what's happening at Rangers but I fail to understand how they think staying away from the games is going to improve the situation in any way, shape of form."
Lee McCulloch head-flicks a free-kick that lands on the top of Alan Mannus's Saints net from 16 yards. At the other end, in front of the Broomloan Road stand, Brian Graham slices a shot wi-i-ide of Lee Robinson's goal.
Lee Robinson races outside his box and mis-times his attempt to clear the ball. Thankfully for him, rangers team-mate Darren McGregor is on hand to hoof it clear.
Goalkeeper Alan Mannus gathers Kris Boyd's lofted header across the goal as Kenny Miller races in on the Northern Irishman.
St Johnstone midfielder Murray Davidson is stretchered off after suffering a head knock.
Steven Anderson does just enough in his challenge on Rangers centre-forward Kris Boyd to put him off and his header drifts wide.
Steve Simonsen is being tended to and will be stretchered off. Lee Robinson comes off the bench for what I think is his first appearance for Rangers since May 2006. He has been at many clubs in between.
Well, that was a very sore one for Steve Simonsen. St Johnstone striker Brian Graham rises to head powerfully towards the Rangers goal and the big goalie dives to his left to make an excellent save but unfortunately he smacks his head against the post.
Immediately at the other end, Simon Lappin breaks clear down the left and races into the penalty box. His left-foot shot looks goalbound but Steve Simonsen gets down to tip it wide of the far post.
Kris Boyd side-foots a shot wide of the target from eight yards - it looks like Frazer Wright did enough to divert it wide. Lee McCulloch meets the corner at the near post but hits it wide.
St Johnstone get the second half going.
