Pablo Zabaleta was given the day off by Manuel Pellegrini, but has since been parachuted onto the substitutes' bench by Manuel Pellegrini after Edin Dzeko pulled up injured in the warm-up. The hunt for Mrs Z's Christmas present must wait a little longer it seems.

Astonishing opening half at St Andrew's where it's raining goals - four in the opening 25 minutes between Birmingham and Reading. The Blues raced into a 2-0 lead before Glenn Murray reduced the deficit but Demarai Gray has added his second of the match to put Birmingham 3-1 up. It goes from bad to worse for struggling Wigan, who trail Watford after Troy Deeney struck.

It's a good day for travelling teams in League One so far. Rochdale and Yeovil lead 2-0 at Colchester and Oldham respectively, while Sheffield United, Peterborough and Swindon are also winning away from home.

A thriller in League Two at Portsmouth who have come from 2-0 down to level against Accrington Stanley thanks to goals by Marcus Bea and Craig Westcarr.

"That was a fantastic save from Ben Hamer (15:33). It was good play from Manchester City but that save will do wonders for Hamer's confidence."

"I'm delighted Willian got booked for his dive - he should have been. I think we should ask managers at the end of the game whether, when their players dive, they condone that sort of behaviour. If they don't, then they should tell their players not to do it. They are the manager, after all."

Unsurprisingly, West Brom are dominating possession as a result of their man advantage following Kieran Richardson's sending off for Aston Villa, but the away side, to their credit, are keeping chances for the hosts at a minimum.

"That is the first we have seen from Manchester City in the final third (see 15:33). Leicester are starting to feel the pace a bit, having made such a high-energy start to the game, and City are having more of the ball. Leicester have been well organised, but the class is coming in now. Two-touch football from City, and a lot more movement."

Chelsea still strolling through this game to be honest. They've created little since that Eden Hazard opener, but look like they could score plenty more if they wanted to.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2014

Ben Hamer makes a strong save, befitting a man with such a strong beard. The Leicester stopper gets down smartly to his left to deny Yaya Toure's daisy-cutter which was heading for the bottom corner.

"There's no reason why, if Hull are not intimidated, they can't get something out of this game. But it is Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, after all.

"I always thought last season Hull punched above their weight a little bit. But they'll come good again."

"If your studs come up and you are off the ground then it is a red card. It must be said I am not sure if Kieran Richardson has ever been sent off before, he is not renowned for his bad tackles."

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:32 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2014

Jake Hesketh's first start for the Saints lasts just half an hour. He clattered the goalkeeper early on, and was clattered himself in midfield a few minutes ago. He can't run that one off, and is replaced by James Ward-Prowse.

"Manchester City are not playing well at all - there is no energy. They've made a lot of changes from midweek and you would have thought they would have really gone after this Leicester side. But they look tired, and Leicester have all the threat going forward. Manuel Pellegrini will have strong words at half-time. City are strolling through this game at the moment."

Manchester City can't quite get the ball to stick up top - Jose Pozo looks too lightweight at the moment. City should just lump Mangala up front. It'd be like in the nineties when they responded to an injury crisis by giving Michel Vonk six games as a lone striker.

Sam Allardyce's mood swiftly improves as West Ham hit back courtesy of Stewart Downing's deflected strike. The midfielder shoots low from distance, Costel Pantilimon seemingly has it covered, but the strike deflects off a Sunderland player and goes into the back of the net with a bemused Pantilimon wrong-footed.

The hosts continue to look dangerous when they put the ball in the box. Nathaniel Clyne tries to chest back a cross to his keeper Fraser Forster, gets too much on it and Forster can only push it clear. Ashley Barnes slides in, there's a right stramash as bodies fly everywhere, but the Clarets can't quite force the ball home. Sean Dyche would have appreciated the defending from the Saints there.

"Yannick Bolasie has been outstanding so far for Crystal Palace. Garth and I highlighted earlier on that the one side of his game that needed to be better was his crossing. Well he put in an excellent cross that McArthur scored from and he has just put in an even better one from the left."

Crystal Palace's goal came from the left flank, and they continue to load up attacks via the skilful wing-play of Yannick Bolasie. Could Bolasie attract some interest in the January transfer window?
