"The problem was the Leicester players were all on the other side of the pitch - they were not quick enough in realising the play was being switched. We've been talking about how important Christian Benteke's return is for Aston Villa with his goals, but some of his passing has been superb today. A great pick-out to find Hutton, who was so cool as he controlled it and steered it in. That's Villa in double figures for goals this season. It's been a long time coming!"

That is Alan Hutton's first goal in his three years at Aston Villa and his first for any club since November 2010. For Leicester, it looks as though they could be staying rock bottom of the Premier League.

  5. GOALpublished at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

A fine counter attack from Aston Villa. Gabriel Agbonlahor runs 50 yards down the left before cutting the ball back to Christian Benteke. The striker picks out the unmarked Alan Hutton, who chests the ball down before firing past goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

"David Nugent just had a little slap of the hands as if to say: 'What a fantastic save by Brad Guzan.' It looked like he might have been offside as he was ambling in after a lovely flick, but he was probably level. Nugent's made a difference since coming on. His footwork has been very tidy."

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

What a strike from Leicester substitute David Nugent. His looping volley from 25 yards is heading into the top corner before retreating goalkeeper Brad Guzan sticks out a hand to tip the ball over. So close for the Foxes.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

A change for Leicester now as striker Jamie Vardy is replaced by frontman Chris Wood. Very little happening in terms of action at the moment.

"English or Irish for Jack Grealish? I still don't know. It's nice to have the choice I guess. Maybe Roy Keane will have said to him, before he left Villa: 'You're playing for Ireland. End of.'"

Grealish, 19, has played for the Republic of Ireland at youth level, up until the U21s, but England U21 manager Gareth Southgate has said he would be interested in calling him up to his squad., external

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 17:24 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

Jack Grealish replaces Tom Cleverley in midfield for Aston Villa. The19-year-old is making his seventh appearance of the campaign.

Another late challenge. Jeffrey Schlupp is Leicester's third player in the book after a sliding challenge on Alan Hutton, that gets absolutely nowhere near the ball.

"Aston Villa have to force the issue. It cannot be a case of trying not to lose this game. They are trying to make the running but Leicester have got a bit about them and fancy their chances. We've seen better technical games but this is a very interesting scrap."

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

Esteban Cambiasso now in the referee's book for Leicester. A thumbs up and a nod from from the midfielder as he takes one for the team by tripping the marauding Gabriel Agbonlahor.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

This is becoming a one-man show for Leicester. Kasper Schmeichel again to the rescue as he sticks his foot out to divert Gabriel Agbonlahor's low shot wide.

Andrew, Birmingham: DavidNugent not scored since April? He's bound to net a hat-trick against Aston Villa then, we love to help players out of a rut.

John, York: Have to agree with Dave from Rotherham (see 47 mins). Tom Cleverley has done nothing for us. Pleeeeease give Jack Grealish a go!

Will Holmes, York: In reply to Dave from Rotherham: Did you not just see Cleverley bursting into the box? Learnt that from the ginger prince Paul Scholes.

"Kasper Schmeichel got a vital touch on that. He pretty much smothered the situation, but what a delicious little ball from Kieron Richardson to release the forward."

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2014

Christian Benteke has a glorious chance to give Aston Villa the lead as he races clean through on goal. The striker momentarily hesitates and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is quickly off his line to deflect his attempted dink wide. Good save but he should score.

Leicester counter but, after David Nugent's pass finds Jeffrey Schlupp, his shot is well over.

At the other end Kieran Richardson looks certain to score as Gabriel Agbonlahor's low cross finds him just yards out, but goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel deflects the shot wide.

"That was some of the best football we have seen in the game. After nice build-up play Christian Benteke took it to another level with a cracking ball to find Tom Cleverley, but unfortunately he just lost his composure slightly trying to shoot on the angle."
