    Stoke v WrexhamImage source, PA

Stoke have never won the tournament but reached the 2011 final, where they lost 1-0 to Manchester City. Manager Mark Hughes has experience of lifting the trophy as a player - thrice with Manchester United and once with Chelsea.

They almost didn't make it to today's draw however, needing a late comeback to beat Wrexham 3-1.

The Potters are ball number three.

We will talk you through some of the teams in the draw before we start and no better place to start than...

Current holders Arsenal beat Hull 2-0 yesterday in a repeat of the 2014 final. They have won the tournament 11 times, a joint-record with Manchester United.

Forward Theo Walcott made his first Gunners start in exactly a year following a serious knee injury.

Arsene Wenger's side are ball number one.

  4. Cup draw rehearsalpublished at 18:31 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2015

Wimbledon 1988 FA Cup Lawrie Sanchez and local grassroots football coach Stef Loucaides are the two lads doing today's draw and they are currently doing a trial draw.

Manchester City are at home to Cambridge United, the lowest team left in the tournament, in this trial. Both sets of fans would presumably be delighted with that?

  9. Rapid risepublished at 18:24 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2015

    Wimbledon

How about this for a rise then?

AFC Wimbledon were formed in 2002 by Wimbledon supporters as a reaction to the decision allowing their club to relocate to Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire.

They entered the Premier Division of the Combined Counties League, which is the ninth tier in English football and have been promoted five times since - going up from the ninth tier to the fourth (League Two).

They also hold the record of the longest unbeaten run of league matches in English senior football, having played 78 consecutive games without a defeat between February 2003 and December 2004.

  10. Getting to know the Donspublished at 18:21 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January 2015

    Wimbledon

A few more questions to answer about Wimbledon:

Who is their manager? It seems fitting AFC Wimbledon are managed by a Dons legend, with a full understanding of the club's history. Neil Ardley, who has been their manager since 2012, made 245 appearances for the original Dons between 1991-2002.

Where do they play? They are located at Kingsmeadow in Kingston upon Thames, with a capacity of 4,850.

How have they reached the FA Cup third round? They beat League Two York in a replay in the first round before winning 1-0 at Wycombe, also in their league, in the last round.

It was inevitable wasn't it? Liverpool v AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup was always going to equal a lot of hype about that 1988 FA Cup final.

Dave Beasant's penalty save, the Crazy Gang spirit and Lawrie Sanchez's winning header are memorable moments to anyone of a certain age as Wimbledon pulled off what many saw as the impossible to lift the cup.

This may technically be a different Wimbledon - after the original club relocated to Milton Keynes in 2002 - but a win against Liverpool would surely be an even bigger shock.

Three leagues and 72 places between the sides this evening. Can David defeat Goliath?

Spurs are no strangers to lifting the FA Cup. They have won the famous trophy eight times in their history, but haven't lifted it since beating Nottingham Forest in the 1991 final.

Burnley have won the competition once, in 1914, but did lose the 1962 final to Tottenham and were also runners-up in 1947, when they lost to Charlton.

Can either of these clubs add to their trophy haul this season?

The Reds skipper has had plenty of tributes paid to him since announcing he will leave the club in the summer to join LA Galaxy.

Premier League fans, would you like an FA Cup run or does it not matter compared to the league?

On Friday, we published a list of John Motson's 10 greatest FA Cup third-round shocks. Unless AFC Wimbledon beat Liverpool tonight, I don't think we'll need to make any changes if we want to run it again next year.

It was a weekend of nearly-shocks. Blyth led 2-0 against Birmingham, almost went into half-time 3-0 up, but then ended up losing 3-2.

Conference club Wrexham were 10 minutes from an all-time shock before blowing a lead to lose 3-1 to Stoke.

And Southport, another Conference side, conceded a last-minute goal to lose 1-0 at Derby County.

You can watch every single goal of the third round so far on our video wall.

    ChristmasImage source, Getty Images

If the FA Cup third round is like Christmas to football fans, then we have reached Christmas night.

All the main presents are opened. Some were made of real quality (Chelsea 3-0 Watford). Some initially looked promising but then fell apart (Blyth 2-3 Birmingham). With some, you suspected not much effort was put into it (QPR 0-3 Sheffield United). And some you didn't even pretend to look happy with (sorry Saido).

Christmas dinner is eaten and your drunk uncle who wasn't even invited has already made a fool of himself (Accrington).

All there is now to look forward to now is an evening of Pringles (other snacks in a tube are available) - aka the FA Cup fourth-round draw and a glass or two of Baileys (other alcoholic Irish cream drinks are available) aka Burnley v Tottenham and AFC Wimbledon v Liverpool.

Oh there's two games tomorrow, he remembers as his already shaky analogy falls apart. They can be Boxing Day.
