Former Man Utd and England full-back Phil Neville
in Paris for 5 live Sport

"It's going to be a tough game for Chelsea. They lost here last year in the quarter-final 3-1, and PSG have got a formidable home record this season. I always feel with PSG they have wonderful individuals, but they are not as good a team as Chelsea, who are just a better unit. Chelsea defend better and are better organised.

"It's all about which of Costa or Ibrahimovic performs. If the defences dominate then it will be tonight, but if not there are going to be goals."

The French football media are not mixing their words when it comes to what they think about Jose Mourinho, with France Football labelling him, to put it politely, "a pain in the neck" and a "stirrer".

However, if things had worked out a little differently, they could have been singing his praises. Mourinho was previously wanted by PSG to be their new coach on two separate occasions - 2011 and 2013 - but he turned them down both times.

In the second instance, he was manager of Real Madrid, and Mourinho said: "It was a big challenge for me and a big challenge to compete directly against the best, Barcelona, probably the best team in Europe for the last decade for sure. It was not the right moment for me to go."

  9. Compliment or cheeky quip?published at 18:36 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

You can never quite tell with Jose Mourinho if he is paying someone a compliment, or having a cheeky dig.

While he claims Chelsea are a different team to the one that edged past PSG last year, he says the French side have barely changed in the subsequent 12 months.

"Paris is a great team - basically the same team as last season, with David Luiz," he said. "When you have stability you can always improve."

Steve Huish: Chelsea fans should thank PSG as David Luiz's transfer prevented them from failing Financial Fair Play (FFP) and receiving a €40 million fine.

Nishtar in Walsall: Are Chelsea the only team who could make a decent squad from their second team?! Look at all the attacking flair they possess!

  15. Luiz to be Chelsea's tormentor?published at 18:22 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Could David Luiz come back to haunt his former club?

The Brazil defender will certainly be up for this game, but says he will show the club he won both the Champions League and the Europa League with "respect" should he score.

"I want to qualify, like I qualified last year, but I want to qualify for PSG," he said. "If I score against Chelsea I won't celebrate out of respect, but I will be happy."

  16. "Erratic and rash" Luizpublished at 18:18 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

    Andy Brassell
    European football expert

"This is not just a repeat of last season's thrilling quarter-final between the sides, but the occasion of David Luiz facing his old team-mates for the first time.

"Many raised their eyebrows when the French champions paid in excess of £40m for a defender who can be erratic and rash - especially after his nightmare display in Brazil's World Cup semi-final humiliation against Germany - but his impact at the Parc des Princes has been largely positive.

"Even if Luiz still has his share of heart-in-mouth moments and there is the feeling that PSG's transfer kitty might have been better spent elsewhere - they had to back out of a move for Angel Di Maria because of financial fair play restrictions - he has strengthened Laurent Blanc's side."

Chelsea will come up against a familiar face tonight, with defender David Luiz in the Paris St-Germain side.

The Blues sold the Brazilian to PSG last summer for around £50m, and his departure funded the purchase of Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis.

Jose Mourinho may have complained that he had no "real strikers" after his side lost in Paris last year, but he would have no reason for such a complaint if they lose tonight.

The Portuguese coach has already confirmed he will play Diego Costa against PSG, with the striker having been serving a three-match suspension.

Costa has scored 17 goals in 19 Premier League games this season, and Mourinho said: ""Yes, I will start him, but it's not good for a player to be three matches without starting a game. So he's not in the best of condition."

Getting the excuses in already Jose....?
