The final whistles have blown on our three Football League matches.

In the Championship, Nottingham Forest closed to within eight points of the play-off places with a 2-0 victory over Rotherham, brilliant strikes by Dexter Blackstock and Michail Antonio proving the difference.

At Craven Cottage, Leeds made it five away win from six as goals from Sam Byram, Sol Bamba and Mirco Antenucci condemned Fulham to a 3-0 defeat. Kostas Stafylidis was dismissed for two cautions for Fulham, who now have just one win in 13.

Burton now lead the way by five points in League Two after an impressive 2-1 win over Southend. The hosts were losing 1-0 to a Barry Corr goal and down to 10 men after Robbie Weir's red card, but Matt Palmer levelled early in the second half before Abdenasser El Khayati popped up with an 89th-minute winner.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini says the penalty miss was a key moment but he also says that it is very hard to play against Barcelona at the moment. Full reaction to come.

There's been late drama at the Pirelli Stadium where 10-man Burton have defeated Southend 2-1 to move five points clear at the League Two summit.

The hosts were losing 1-0 and down to 10 men at the break but Matt Palmer levelled early in the second half before Abdenasser El Khayati popped up with an 89th-minute winner

In the Championship, the final whistle has gone at the City Ground where Nottingham Forest have beaten Rotherham 2-0. There's still a few minutes left in the night's other match at Craven Cottage, where Leeds lead 10-man Fulham 2-0.

Barca break, they've got two-on-one, you'd put your mortgage on a goal but Lionel Messi is kept out really well by a sprawling Joe Hart. You can't take your eyes off it!

For all of their attacking flair and skill, Barca still impress with their sheer work-rate and speed to get the ball back on the few occasions that they do lose it. It's a potent combination.

Barca were taken to town by Bayern Munich two years ago, they were ground down by Atletico Madrid last year. I'm not so sure there's anyone who can stop them this year - or is there?

Gary Neville says on TV that 'Yaya Toure just cannot play in a midfield two any more, he's a liability.' And City's midfield is all over the place now, ragged and ill-disciplined. This Barca outfit will toy with most sides, to be fair, but City at the minute are being pulled apart.

Leeds have taken the lead, rather against the run of play it must be said, in their Championship match against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Sam Byram made the breakthrough in the 40th minute with a firm downwards header - just as we've all been taught - that bounced high into the net. The half-time whistle has just gone in that one.

Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest led Rotherham 2-0 at the interval in the Championship, while in League Two Southend went into the break 1-0 up on leaders Burton, who are down to 10 men after Robbie Weir was dismissed deep into first-half stoppage time.

Nottingham Forest have two of them in their match at home to Rotherham, Dexter Blackstock with a precise lob two minutes before the interval before Michail Antonio's wonderful run and 25-yard shot made it 2-0 just moments later.

In the night's other Championship game it's 0-0 between Fulham and Leeds in an 20:00 GMT kick-off at Craven Cottage, while in League Two Southend are 1-0 up on leaders Burton thanks to Barry Corr's goal in first-half injury time. Corr had earlier seen a penalty saved by Burton goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin.

He cuts on to his left foot, looks up and floats a 45-yard crossfield pass right onto the chest of Ivan Rakitic. Joe Hart comes out, the Croatian lifts a lob over his head and in off the underside of the crossbar. It's a brilliant goal.

Football League latest

Just three games in the Football League tonight and they're all under way.

In the Championship, it's goalless in the 19:45 GMT kick-off at the City Ground where Nottingham Forest are hosting Rotherham, while the 20:00 GMT contest between Fulham and Leeds and Craven Cottage is also sans buts with just a few minutes gone.

It's a similar tale at the Pirelli Stadium in League Two where leaders Burton and fifth-placed Southend are still to break the deadlock, although the visitors have spurned a glorious chance to go ahead with Barry Corr seeing a penalty saved by Burton goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin.

Lionel Messi being moved out to the right to accommodate Luis Suarez has been a big talking point in Spain - and further afield - but it's not harming Messi's goal return. Also, the Argentine has just tracked back 60 yards to cut out a pass from James Milner. Graft and grace.

Manchester City have had 56% of the ball so far, but they've also given away the best chance of the night. If it gets to the hour mark goalless I'd imagine Manuel Pellegrini would be happy enough.

The way Lionel Messi is playing though, that doesn't seem likely. The little magician nutmegs Fernandinho brilliantly but his pass out wide is cut out.

City win a corner through Aleksandar Kolarov but the delivery is really poor. has to be better. Kolarov then does have a shot from 25 yards, worth a try on this wet pitch, but Barca's cup keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen makes the save easily enough.

If City take encouragement from that half-chance, they'll be equally worried with how fragile they look in defence. One pass forwards and it's three-on-three. That's as good as suicide against the Barca attack. Fernandinho gets back but all he can do is haul Neymar down and go into the book.

Remember, City have had a man sent off in their last three games against Barcelona.

Silva finds Yaya Toure bursting into the box, the big man drills it across goal for James Milner. It looks like a tap-in for Milner but Dani Alves does brilliantly to block it out. The best form of defence could be attack? City have looked a bag of nerves at the back but they now come forwards and Sergio Aguero is allowed to carry the ball a long way. He is invited to shoot, and he does, the ball deflecting just wide.

David Silva puts in a tackle and you can see the water flying up. As Robbie Savage said [4 mins], the pitch is soaking.

Vincent Kompany is playing like an impersonator at the moment. He does just about get a foot on the ball to cut out Luis Suarez's cross but Barcelona are playing at a different speed, on a different level.

In tonight's other Champions League tie, Jurgen Klopp's rejuvenated Borussia Dortmund face Juventus in a repeat of the 1997 final.

Dortmund couldn't buy a win before Christmas and were facing relegation, but a run of five wins and three draws in 10 games since has kick-started their season. They are up to 10th in the Bundesliga and scored a vital away goal in the first leg in Turin.

A 1-0 win and they're through tonight. but Klopp, eloquently as ever, said: "We face the greatest challenge there is in football, to score against an Italian team which will advance with a 0-0 draw."

City defender Pablo Zabaleta thinks they can knock Barcelona out of the Champions League and reignite their Premier League bid in the process.

City lost 1-0 to Burnley on Saturday, are six points behind Chelsea, and go to the Nou Camp needing to overturn a 2-1 deficit in the last 16.

"It's not going to be easy, but nothing is impossible in football. You have to be ready for these moments," Argentine Zabaleta said - before he was dropped.

"Things can change on games like this. If you look at the game Real Madrid played against Schalke and the same with Chelsea and PSG, it shows anything can happen in football.

"That's why we need to go to Barca with confidence, with belief and try to do our best to win that game.

"We have played in this competition for four years. It's a competition we want to make progress in."

They have had a player sent-off in each of their three meetings with Barcelona thus far. Martin Demichelis and Pablo Zabaleta last season, Gael Clichy in the first leg this season.

Sergio Aguero, Zabaleta, Fernando and Edin Dzeko are all also one booking away from a suspension. City will hope that they will miss a first leg of the quarter-final...

Barca will surely test that record, and 16 of Barcelona's 17 goals in the Champions League this season have been scored from open play.

Manchester City face an uphill task to make it through tonight. The hopes of the Premier League rest with them after Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all crashed out.

Burnley were excellent at the weekend as they made light work of the champions - but in all honesty it was the dearth of quality on display from City which made all of the difference.

Tonight they may not be facing Ashley Barnes, Danny Ings and Sam Vokes. But the rickety City backline will instead have to cope with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

'Pellegrini was lucky'

Manuel Pellegrini was "lucky" to inherit a strong Manchester City side and should be winning titles every year, says former boss Roberto Mancini.

City are behind Chelsea in the Premier League and trail Barcelona 2-1 heading into the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, with Pellegrini's future the subject of much speculation.

"Pellegrini was lucky because he got a strong team," Mancini told CNN.

"I think City should and must try to win a title every year."

City manager Manuel Pellegrini claims his job is not under threat as they prepare to face the Spaniards.

An exit from the competition could see his position come under more scrutiny as City struggle to defend their Premier League title.

But the 61-year-old said: "I don't think my seat is in danger. We're second in the table, still strong and are going to fight."

He added that even if his position was under threat, he "wouldn't do anything differently, I would do the same thing and focus on the game".

Stick with me - well, Andy - and you might learn something.
