Footyographer:, external Sanchez is alligator, Hazard is crocodile. They both look like they are the same, but one is a class above the other.

Ben Turner:, external I can't see anything about Alexis that isn't world class. His temperament, ability and desire are second to none!

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2015

It has been threatening to happen for a while but Jonathan Moss finally reaches into his pocket and pulls out a yellow card, Stoke debutant Philipp Wollscheid going in the book for pulling Olivier Giroud's shirt.

Former Stoke captain Andy Griffin on BBC Radio Stoke: "It hits the post and somehow goes in. From Asmir's point of view, the wall disintegrated and didn't do its job. He needs to have a word with the players and tell them after the game - you can't do that, you don't jump out of the way."

Surely game over now as Arsenal add a third, Alexis Sanchez, with a free-kick just outside the area, hits the ball through the Stoke wall but a slight deflection takes it further away from Asmir Begovic, who can only help it on to the post and in.

Lovely fast flowing football from Arsenal as they are immediately on the hunt for a third, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain finding Hector Bellerin on the right but his cross is headed behind.

  6. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2015

Erik Pieters strolled out of the tunnel but has just wandered back in, holding his groin and it is going to be an impromptu sub for Stoke as Marc Muniesa replaces him. Steve Sidwell also replaces Steven Nzonzi.

    Back under way.

Luke Gwalchmai:, external Alexis Sanchez wasn't so anonymous with his stunning volley against Man City earlier this season!

George Jenkins:, external If Sanchez keeps going I would love to see him be as good as Thierry Henry. Very good but not quite there yet.

"Arsenal have been great, played well and started off brightly. They got the early goal that calmed them down and despite losing Debuchy through injury, they've been largely untroubled."

All-in-all a good afternoon out at Emirates Stadium for former Arsenal pair Thierry Henry and Robert Pires. Wonder how much they would have enjoyed playing alongside a talent such as Alexis Sanchez?

Former Stoke captain Andy Griffin on BBC Radio Stoke: "The manager has to convince the Stoke players they can still get something out of this game. If they get the next goal and make it 2-1, the whole dynamics change."

    Guy Mowbray
BBC Match of the Day commentator at Emirates Stadium

"Asmir Begovic superb early on, fighting a one-man battle against Arsenal, but he was beaten by a Koscielny header and then a Sanchez strike. Arsenal could have had two more since then while Stoke have come back, but at the break it is the hosts who lead 2-0."

Barry: Don't get me wrong Sanchez is a great player but he is completely anonymous against the top teams. He certainly doesn't deserve the world class tag he's already been given.

Peter Crouch gets ahead of Lauent Koscielny to meet a cross but can't direct it on target and the ball goes behind for a goal kick. To their credit, Stoke have not been outplayed and have created chances, Arsenal have simply made the most of their opportunities.

Jay:, external The comments make me think that Stoke are making malicious challenges. Watching it live, they are just robust & legal ones.

Dominic O'Caollaí:, external Sanchez is the difference between AFC and LFC right now.LFC had that one window to buy top, top players and failed. Miserably.

Arsenal look on course to go into the break two goals to the good, although five minutes of added time will give Stoke hope of snatching a goal back, which would make things interesting in the second half.
