"A number of Arsenal fans sat in front of us here in the press box very unhappy with Stoke manger Mark Hughes and the nature of some of the tough tackles that have been going in from his players."

A pause in play as Nacho Monreal takes a whack from the arm of Peter Crouch as both players jump for the ball. No chance that was an intentional Elbow, he is more of a Kasabian man anyway.

Former Stoke captain Andy Griffin on BBC Radio Stoke: "It's wonderful play and lovely interchange between Rosicky and Sanchez. I thought he would bend the shot round, so I've no idea how he snuck it in at the near post. It underlines the quality of the player."

Well that is just brilliant! Alexis Sanchez, who else, slots in a cheeky second for Arsenal. The forward runs on to a pass from Tomas Rosicky, scampers into the area and just as every watching person is expecting him to try and break past Ryan Shawcross he somehow manages to clip the ball into the net at the near post. Asmir Begovic knew nothing about it until he was picking the ball up out of the net.

Tomas Rosicky is on the receiving end of a hefty challenge by Marko Arnautovic midway inside the Stoke half and Arsene Wenger, along with the home crowd, calls for a booking. Referee is keeping his cards in his pocket for now though.

Tommo: Arsenal fans deluded if they think that subs bench is quality. Washed up keeper and CM, no decent defender and a striker who is so good, he's only made 4 Premiership appearances this season.

A free-kick routine forged on the training ground almost catches out Arsenal as Bojan, on the right side of the area, sweeps the ball low to Glenn Whelan, who races in unmarked to the edge of the box, but smashes the ball well over.

A rare foray into Arsenal's half for Stoke as they win a free-kick, Glenn Whelan pumps it into the box for Ryan Shawcross but the defender can't quite reach it. Erik Pieters' cross then takes a slight deflection, almost wrong-footing David Ospina, but the Arsenal keeper manages to smother the ball before any Stoke players sneak in.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returns to his original position following Hector Bellerin's introduction and almost grabs Arsenal's second, getting the better of Erik Pieters on the edge of the area with some fancy footwork before firing just wide.
