West Brom boss Tony Pulis, speaking to Sky Sports: "I have had a bit more time to work with the players and get to know them. They have worked really well this week but what counts is what they do on match day and it will be interesting to see how they go.

"We have variations [in the squad]. We have enough players who can play in different positions to give us good choices. Having players who know how to adapt is very important in the modern game.

"Saido is a good player and we are looking forward to keeping him and him scoring some more goals."

Now then, Sylvester Stallone has popped up early on the big screen at Everton and he sweet talks the home crowd as he explains the need for crowd shots for the upcoming film he is in, "Creed".

On saying why he picked Goodison Park he says with a smile: "Where else would we go but here, the best." Before finishing with "Gooo Evertonnnn" and a swift jab at the camera. Amazing.

Big coats, hats and gloves are the order of the day for the fans stepping out of the concourses and into the stands at Goodison Park at the moment, very chilly indeed out there. No rain or snow, though. Not yet anyway.

Everton fans haven't seen their side lose at home on a Monday in the Premier League since 2001. With a record like that, it is worth braving the cold.

  6. Baggies to remember Astlepublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2015

Tonight promises to be emotional for West Brom fans as the 19 January marks the 13th anniversary of the death of Baggies legend Jeff Astle.

It is fitting that the anniversary also falls on the day West Brom play Everton, because Astle scored for the Baggies against the Toffees to win the 1968 FA Cup - West Brom's last major trophy.

"This is almost a bigger game for Everton than it is for West Brom, because imagine if the Baggies went to Goodison Park and won? It would be disastrous for the Toffees, who have won only one of their last nine league games, and West Brom would go above them in the table."

Lawro has gone with 2-0 Everton for this one. How did he get on with his predictions for Saturday's and Sunday's games? Take a look for yourself.

Today is Blue Monday - apparently the most depressing day of the year. Miserable for most, but could it be a good omen for long-suffering Everton fans?

One striker definitely not in the Everton squad tonight is Samuel Eto'o, who is on the verge of signing for Serie A side Sampdoria.

The 33-year-old former Cameroon international joined the Toffees on a two-year deal in August, and has scored four goals in 20 appearances.

"Eto'o should be here in Genoa on Tuesday," sporting director Carlo Osti told Italian broadcaster Telenord.

"At this stage last season Everton were in the top six, now they are just above the relegation zone. They were very direct last season and now it seems to take an age to get the ball up front and through midfield. Romelu Lukaku can only finish chances if he's presented them in the first place!"

Everton manager Roberto Martinez makes one change from the side eliminated from the FA Cup on penalties by West Ham last week as Kevin Mirallas replaces the suspended Aiden McGeady.

West Brom head coach Tony Pulis make two changes from the side which beat Hull 1-0. Craig Gardner and former Everton striker Victor Anichebe are preferred to Brown Ideye and Stephane Sessegnon who drop to the bench. Saido Berahino starts.

Everton XI: Robles, Coleman, Stones, Jagielka, Baines, Mirallas, Besic, Barry, Naismith, Barkley, Lukaku.

West Brom XI: Foster, Wisdom, McAuley, Lescott, Baird, Gardner, Brunt, Yacob, Morrison, Anichebe, Berahino.

    Saido Berahino

    "It isn't a one-man team."

Not my words, the words of West Brom boss Tony Pulis on highly-rated striker Saido Berahino. The England Under-21 international has scored 14 times in 25 appearances for the Baggies this season, and has been linked with a big-money transfer to a top Premier League club.

Will he stay at West Brom before the transfer window closes? You can have your say via our vote on the right side of the page right now or via the voting tab on mobile.
