It is one-way traffic now as Ghana throw everything at the South African goal. Can they force their way through?

So as things stand Algeria will top this group. Senegal will go through on head-to-head record as they beat Ghana 2-1.

That 93rd minute win is looking ever more priceless.

I hope you are finding this as chaotic as we are.

Ghana need to change that record if they want to go through...

BBC Sport's Matthew Kenyon in Mongomo: I'm sitting just level with the Ghana penalty area. Bafana Bafana fans - it's not looking good. I haven't seen any action right opposite me for about 15 minutes. SA strangely content with the 1-0 scoreline - which wouldn't have taken them through. And then Ghana scored.

Senegal are leading a charmed life. A cross into the box is dropped by their goalkeeper and Algeria striker El Arbi Soudani volleys into and empty net...goal...no. Cleared off the line.

Kara Mbodj is the man in the way and his country will be thankful he somehow got himself in the line of fire. Chaos followed, a scramble and in the end a big boot down field.

Medhi Lacen of Spanish side Getafe replaces Yacine Brahimi. It looks like a heavy fall caused the problem for the Porto man.

That Ghana goal changes things again and the message has not been heard by players on the pitch yet.

Ghana are back alive. John Boye turns inside the penalty area and fires the ball in from close range.

This man will be coming off. He has an injury of some kind and gestures to the bench for a replacement. A miss in the closing quarter for Algeria.

Dame N'Doye meets a delivery and heads over for Senegal. They are in a strange position here. Losing but still going through, while knowing another goal in the other fixture would prove catastrophic.

BBC Sport's Matthew Kenyon in Mongomo: It's getting tetchy as these two teams face an exit from the Nations Cup. South Africa conceding a lot of dangerous free kicks. The Black Stars are much more evident in this second half.

Did you know? Algeria is the 10th-largest country in the world and 90% of it is desert.

In terms of square miles, it is almost four times bigger than the United Kingdom.

Both teams have to push for another goal here. A defeat sends Ghana out while Bafana Bafana need a goal to put them through still. A lull in the proceedings at the moment.

White shirts aplenty wave forward as Senegal have a free-kick and you cannot argue with their ambition. This is positive and perhaps risky as they chase a crucial goal.

Mame Biram Diouf thinks he has been hard done by. Let's just say the rip in his shirt implies his marker got a bit heavy handed. A penalty shout but how often do we see them given? Not very.

Sadio Mane off, Dame N'Doye of Lokomotive Moscow is a handful and is on.

Ghana are targeting a first Cup of Nations victory against South Africa as they bid to extend a record of reaching at least the semi-finals at each of the last four Nations Cups.

The Black Stars put an opening defeat to Senegal behind them when they beat Algeria thanks to a late goal from Gyan on his return from a bout of malaria.

At the moment, things are not going well for them...

  16. CLOSE!published at 19:19 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2015

We almost had some big controversy there as the referee deflected an Algeria pass back to Senegal and only a slip from Sadio mane prevents him from levelling.

The Southampton man as eight yards out and ended up pulling the trigger while on the floor. Well wide but upright you' have fancied him heavily.

South Africa are defending heroically as they continue to repel Ghana's heavy pressure. This is desperate stuff from the Black Stars.

Into the last 30 minutes in both matches and Algeria and Senegal are still both going through. Another South Africa goal changes everything though...

This is much better from Senegal. Pape Souare plays a neat one-two down the left and fizzes a ball across goal which needs good handling skills.

Bold claim here, I fancy a goal soon. They are building some momentum.
