Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling is still enjoying a mid-season break so misses out. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has made two changes from the team which beat Wimbledon in the FA Cup as left-sided wing-back Alberto Moreno and striker Fabio Borini replace Javier Manquillo and Rickie Lambert. Mario Balotelli is on the bench.

Sunderland make four changes from the FA Cup win over Leeds. Centre-back Wes Brown, midfielder Sebastian Larsson, winger Adam Johnson and striker Connor Wickham all return to the starting line-up.

Sunderland: Pantilimon, Vergini, van Aanholt, O'Shea, Brown, Bridcutt, Larsson, Gomez, Johnson, Giaccherini, Wickham.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno, Henderson, Lucas, Markovic, Gerrard, Borini, Coutinho.

Ah, the Beachball Derby. Sunderland v Liverpool. I bet Pepe Reina still has nightmares about that match.

The bruises might have gone, but the memories are still fresh - a bit like Monday's encounter with Adebayo Akinfenwa.

Now it's time for Liverpool and Sunderland to meet once more. Both teams are desperate for the points for different reasons.

    Hi all,

Beachball here. Life's been a whirl since 2009. Following my unexpected goal against Liverpool, I became an overnight celebrity - I went on reality television, did bar crawls in Magaluf and more than the odd photoshoot.

It's all gone a bit flat recently though. I've had the wind knocked out of me now everyone's forgotten about my exploits at the Stadium of Light.

I'd like to be there today, but I'm with Raheem Sterling on a faraway beach. Rest for one man means bonus, unexpected work for this beachball.

    Anyway, enjoy the game today.

    B. Ball.
