Cambridge boss Richard Money won the European Cup as a player with Liverpool and won the League Two title with Walsall. He also took Cambridge up at Wembley last May.

But this must be right up there with the best nights of his career. All credit to him.

More from Cambridge United goalkeeper Chris Dunn: "It's something you dream of. To take them back to Old Trafford is a dream come true, all the lads have dug in and done really well. I can't put it into words.

"The manager just told us after the game that it is deserved. Where the club has been over the last 10 years to now, everybody behind the scenes has been working so hard to get us back in the Football League, and now to get this is a massive reward. They have got the advantage being at home, we are just going to enjoy it and see what happens. Now we have to get ready for Dagenham on Tuesday, so I think tonight will be a quiet one to be honest."

"Cambridge's replay at Old Trafford is a no-lose situation for the club. They have done the hard work and now they will have a wonderful time and will enjoy it. It will be difficult to see them getting a result because it is a totally different scenario to tonight's game, but anybody who has been here tonight will tell you how brilliant they have been, and would wish them good luck."

Oli Worth: No shirt swapping, no pitch invasion, no champagne in the dressing room - just a professional job from Cambridge United.

Rian Hoskins: Not an easy ground to play on and Cambridge were excellent but poor from Manchester United. An FA Cup replay they didn't need.

Lee Allen: Cambridge fully deserve that replay, played brilliant and I think with the FA rules all home fans should get ticket for Old Trafford.

  9. Manager reactionpublished at 22:14 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2015

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: "Yes of course it is frustrating. We make the same error as against Yeovil Town and against QPR, we did the same playing style more or less in the first half.

"Then I have to be angry again. In the second half we did much better but OK we are not out of the Cup. That is the most important thing. But the atmosphere here, the crowd, was fantastic. You know always in advance that all aspects in a game like this is against you.

"I was angry again but it is part of my job. I want to be very happy at half-time. But OK it was not always the same.

"I can only give the credit to the coach, to the staff they did marvellous, but what I already said every aspect of the match is against us - the pitch, the referee, everything that you can think about this is against you. Also the fans of course, but that is nice I think.

"The FA Cup is very important - it is the most important title for us. To win the Premier League is much more difficult now, so the FA Cup is our objective also."

Michael Carrick speaking to Bein sports: "We came here hoping to win the game, we knew it wasn't going to be easy. You can take the difference between the two clubs in the league pyramid but that goes out the window. We've had the better chances, and credit to them for the way we defended.

"People will ask questions of us not scoring, but we'll accept the replay and move on. We are on a decent run but we want to be winning matches. We have the firepower, we're creating chances, but we just didn't take them."

  14. Manager reactionpublished at 22:02 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2015

    BBC Radio 5 live

More from Cambridge United manager Richard Money: "That was hard work wasn't it? Obviously I am very proud. We will try to go to Old Trafford and soak it in, enjoy the night. Because the praise and credit people will get tonight, they deserve.

"Financially for the club it's an incredible achievement. I thought first half we carried a threat, we robbed them in dangerous areas, our two wide players looked threatening, our set-pieces were good - we nearly scored one. The second half is what it is. The cavalry come, whatever, and it really is about how good your defensive organisation is.

"The goalkeeper and back four were outstanding. You can see what it means to everybody. We are all going back to a hotel in the city, families as well. The club have organised a bit of a buffet, there'll one or two drinks I guess. Yes, it'll be nice."

  15. Player reactionpublished at 22:01 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2015

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick:"The first half was scrappy. We weren't at out best. Second half we were better. But it was a frustrating result and we wanted to get through, but we have a replay now.

"It's the FA Cup isn't it? We've seen things happen and they defended the box well and made it difficult for us. We have to be better and take chances when they come but you have to give credit to Cambridge United."

Cambridge United midfielder Ryan Donaldson: "I thought it was quite an even game in terms of chances. We will take this. It's incredible. We've played at Wembley before and the gaffer has been saying all season that this cup run can give us those moments again. How many people will we take to Old Trafford? 15,000? I don't know. How many tickets we get we will sell out I am sure."

  18. Manager reactionpublished at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2015

Cambridge manager Richard Money: "I am extremely proud of each and everyone of my players.

"In the first half we carried a threat. In the second half it becomes world class players keeping the ball and I thought our organisation was good and we defended really well. We needed the goalkeeper and centre-backs to be good and they were.

"We tried to make sure the game didn't faze them in the tunnel and to look at the badge and go out work hard and see what happens. We were confident we could compete. We'll take the replay of course."

Alex Royal: Magic of the FA cup is still alive! Well done Cambridge!

Steve Huish - Surbiton: If David Moyes was still the manager of United everyone would be saying he has to go. 200M spent in 12 months LVG has got a lot to answer. Not good enough.

Elissa in Cambridge: 'Take it to the byline and smack it into the first defender like Valencia' as a sequel to 'Scuff it like Jones.'

  20. "Now the club is back again"published at 21:54 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2015

    BBC Radio 5 live

Cambridge United goalkeeper Chris Dunn, speaking to BBC Sport: On his double save at the end of the game: "To be honest you don't think, you just go and hope for the best. This is the sort of thing you dream of though - to take Manchester United back to Old Trafford is a dream come true, the lads are buzzing."

Cambridge United forward Tom Elliott: "It was brilliant. I am shattered because I was so excited. We knew we had a good first half and that we had to step it up in the second half. But we dug deep and are going to take them back to their place! When I cam here there were only 2,000 people, now the club is back again. When I ran out for the warm-up the atmosphere was incredible. I was buzzing."
