A packed Football League programme today. In the Championship, the 12:15 GMT kick-off sees two high-flying sides in action as Brentford host Middlesbrough. A win for either side would see them move into the automatic promotion spots. Huddersfield entertain Leeds in a tasty West Yorkshire derby at 12:30 GMT. Ipswich are home to struggling Wigan and second-placed Derby travel to Cardiff.

In League One, leaders Swindon face a tricky trip to Sheffield United, while an MK Dons win over Crewe could see them go top if results go their way. Preston are away to Crawley and Rochdale travel to Coventry.

And in League One, top side Wycombe will be looking to extend their one point advantage when they face Portsmouth, but wins for Shrewsbury against Newport and Burton over Bury will keep them in touch with the leaders.

This morning we have been working in tandem with The Danny Baker Show on BBC Radio 5 live and asking the question: When was the exact moment you realised you probably should give up football?

Mohamed: Hung up my boots after a knee injury sent me to the hospital and a hefty MRI bill was the last nail in the coffin.

Muffin the Moose: Italy 2000. Scored a left-foot, last-minute winner despite elbow in the ribs. Swan-dive celebration. Broken rib, end of career.

Mark Wardman: When I dislocated my knee attempting a bicycle kick.

This morning we have been working in tandem with The Danny Baker Show on BBC Radio 5 live and asking the question: When was the exact moment you realised you probably should give up football?

Christian in Sheffield: I went to school with someone who ended up being a professional footballer and this one school game we played up front together. He went on a Ronaldo-esque run, beat five players, got into the box, then I came storming in, took the ball off him... and put it wide. I've played at left-back ever since.

Matt from Hull: My career was over when I came on as sub and somebody from the crowd chanted "He's never seen a salad!"

It would be fair to say we have a pretty big game to round off today's Premier League action. Stamford Bridge is primed to host what could well be the season's defining game. A Chelsea win over Manchester City will take them eight points clear. A City win and the title race is firmly back on. So the question is: who is going to win? It is all over at Stadium Australia. The hosts had to do it the hard way but they have emerged victorious in the Asian Cup final, with James Troisi's extra-time goal giving them, a 2-1 win over South Korea. It is the Socceroos' first major international tournament victory. Take a bow lads.

  13. Just the one goal in it...published at 11:25 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2015

Only one goal separates Sunderland and Burnley in the table. Both have played 22 games, both have 20 points but the Black Cats have a -14 goal difference to Burnley's -15. What a perfect time for the two of them to play each other, then.

Neither team are in the best of form... Sunderland have lost their last three Premier League matches, while Burnley have won only once in their last 12 Premier League away matches. It could well come down to a battle between two strikers at the opposite end of their respective careers: Burnley youngster Danny Ings and Sunderland veteran Jermain Defoe.

For the record, this is the 100th league meeting between the two teams. Sunderland have the upper hand with 40 wins to Burnley's 33.

  16. Bojan blow for Stokepublished at 11:18 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2015

Bojan Krkic receives treatmentImage source, Getty Images

You have to feel sorry for Bojan Krkic. The Stoke forward has been enjoying a good first season in this country, doing a sterling job of contributing to Mark Hughes' attempts to change the identity of the Potters. However, after scoring in the FA Cup win over Rochdale, Krkic then suffered a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Stoke will be hoping the injury does not cost them too much. They are currently 10th off the back of just two defeats in their last 10 games and have won five of their last seven matches in all competitions. They will be favourites to beat QPR this afternoon, with Harry Redknapp's side currently 19th in the table and having lost all 10 of their away league games this season. Still, all runs must come to an end, right?

  17. Asian Cup finalpublished at 11:11 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2015

Stadium Australia erupts! The home side are back in front in extra time through James Troisi's close-range finish. The goal came just before the break in the added 30, so somehow South Korea need to lift themselves again in the remaining 15.

  18. The moment you realised it was time to give up footballpublished at 11:08 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2015

This morning we are working in tandem with The Danny Baker Show on BBC Radio 5 live and asking the question: When was the exact moment you realised you probably should give up football?

Gary Cumming: Probably when a back pass to my 'keeper turned into a 25-yard rasper into the top corner. Best goal I've ever scored.

Arron, Southampton: Realised my time was up after scoring an own goal, then getting sent off after arguing with my own team about it. Think it was about the 25th minute of the match.

Last season it was Palace, this campaign it is West Brom on the Tony Pulis rescue-mission bandwagon. The baggies are unbeaten this year and have moved from a point and a place above the bottom three to three points clear and 14th place in that time. They have also gone 260 minutes without conceding a league goal.

This record will be challenged this afternoon, though, by a Tottenham side who have only lost one of their last eight league matches and will be buoyed by reaching the Capital One Cup final courtesy of a (somewhat nervy) win over Sheffield United during the week. Christian Erikson's goals finally saw off the brave Blades challenge and West Brom will have to mind the Dane closely. His goals have won 13 points this season, more than any other Premier League player.

However, this Spurs have already completed a whole Premier League campaign's worth of fixtures (with today's game being their 39th of the season) so you might expect some of their players to be breathing harder than Tiny Tim in a sandstorm come the last 10 at the Hawthorns.
