  1. 'This is a criminal tackle'published at 11:45 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2015

More from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on Sky Sports, who goes back to the incident where Nemanja Matic was sent off after being the victim of a "criminal tackle" from Burnley's Ashley Barnes on Saturday.

"Football is about emotions and clearly Nemanja Matic had a reason to lose his emotions," says Mourinho. "What are the consequences of his push, nothing. The consequence for Matic from the tackle? It could be the end of his career. A criminal tackle.

"If you call Diego Costa's actions against Liverpool a crime, the minimum you have to say is this is a criminal tackle. As an institution Sky did not apologise to Chelsea, to Costa, or to me.

"Diego Costa has a three-match ban. Matic will probably get three. You tell me how many games you think they deserve?"

  2. 'I'm not attacking the honesty of anyone'published at 11:41 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2015

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on Sky Sports: "I am not attacking the honesty, the dignity of anyone. I am not trying to - and in this country you love this sentence - 'bring the game into disrepute.' I am trying to be honest.

"If we are in a normal situation when decision sometimes go for us, sometimes go against us, we could be five points clear, we could be 12. It could be 12 points."

  3. 'Matic reaction the right one'published at 11:38 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2015

    Former England midfielder Jermaine Jenas

"Nemanja Matic's reaction was correct. Challenges like that are cowardly - Ashley Barnes could have broken his leg. Matic's foot is planted and Barnes catches him in the mid-section of his shin. I fully understand the reaction, it could have ended his career. When someone catches you that high up you get angry, you see the red mist."

  4. Costa crimes?published at 11:37 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2015

Jose Mourinho is unhappy at what he perceives as unfair treatment after Sky Sports used the word 'crimes' to describe some of the controversial moments in Diego Costa's career. The striker got a three-game ban for stamping on Liverpool's Emre Can and only returned to Premier League action on Saturday.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on Sky Sports: "When I finished the game against Liverpool I went to the dressing room and I was reading non-stop about Diego Costa's crimes. I would like to know how do you, Sky Sports, describe the actions of a Burnley player yesterday? My English is not good enough to find an adjective to qualify. I don't find a word to describe.

"The challenge from Ashley Barnes on Nemanja Matic can be the end of a career. I cannot find an adjective to describe it. It is end of career. Nemanja Matic is a very lucky guy. Another club would have the power to appeal Matic's red card."

  5. 'Week after week decisions go against us'published at 11:35 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2015

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on Sky Sports: "The best players in the world make mistakes. This gentleman [Martin Atkinson] is one of the top referees in European football, he can also make mistakes. He clearly made four important mistakes yesterday. He is like the lawyer who is consistent because he lost 15 of 15 cases. You don't want that lawyer.

"The Diego Costa penalty story started on day one of the season. He should have had a penalty against Burnley in the first game of the season and he got booked for a dive. We have this history since day one. I remember one decision all season that went our way and that was a doubtful one.

"I am risking my place in the dugout for the [League Cup] final by having this discussion. I cannot go too far. But the reality is that week after week we are having these decisions [against us]. Football is football, but I think it is too much. I think my players don't deserve that. Yesterday I was calm in the press conference but my players are not getting the respect they deserve."

  6. Mourinho on referee decisionspublished at 11:30 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2015

"I said clearly that at half-time Burnley should be playing with 10 men and Chelsea should have had two penalties, normally we would win 3-0. The reality is in the end we have 10 men and we lost two points.

On the handball incident: "The referee's opinion is wrong. The arms stopped the ball from hitting the target. There is no space for interpretation. He is far away, he is not one metre. He is quite far, the ball hits the target if it doesn't hit his hand.

"Players should be taught to keep their balance in different situations in the box, by putting their hands behind the body. This is a penalty. You can say what you want, for me this is a penalty everywhere."

  7. Mourinho on Burnley incidentspublished at 11:27 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2015

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on Sky Sports: "What can I say that everybody doesn't know? There are some incidents in matches where there is space for discussion and different opinions and explanations. You have a point of view, I have a point of view, but there are actions when there is clearly only one point of view. These four incidents are clear for everyone."

Should managers be fined by the FA? "It is what it is. If you say it in a way when you go over the line in your comments it is understandable but if you just watch it is obvious without attacking the integrity of people, it shouldn't be a problem."

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is a guest on Goals On Sunday on Sky Sports. We will be also bringing you the best of his quotes, in what is likely to be a lively interview.

On the incident on the Paris Metro: "Our reaction couldn't be better. Chelsea's reaction as a club was fantastic, we could not do more than we did. Should I be ashamed of what two or three persons did? Are these persons representing my club? Is Chelsea this? But I am very sorry to be connected to this.

"I don't know if the gentleman has accepted our invitation to come and see a game."

BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer: "Joey Barton's red card was a very costly moment - I totally understand that he has gone in to protect his young team-mate but pushing Alex Bruce away is stupid and what he did [making contact with Tom Huddlestone] has cost his team-mates - and not just today but he has cost them for the next three games as well.

"But it was a massive, massive win for Hull."

BBC Sport pundit Robbie Savage: "Barton has come into the game on the back of seven straight yellow cards so he has been playing on the edge - and what he has done against Hull is stupid."

  16. 'Newcastle were pathetic'published at 10:58 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2015

    Match of the Day

    Newcastle playersImage source, Reuters

BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer: "I can just imagine the Newcastle team talk before the game: 'Right lads, this team have got Barcelona on Tuesday. Let's just keep it tight for the first 10 or 15 minutes. Let's get in among them, put one or two tackles in and see if they fancy it.

"But after 20 or 30 seconds, that was out of the window. Newcastle just didn't get near them. They didn't fancy it. And to be honest, they were pathetic. It was embarrassing, it really was, from the first minute to the last.

"It was just far, far too easy for City. These are top players. You cannot give them time on the ball like this. City show so much hunger to get the ball back, even when they're 3-0 up. I never saw that once from Newcastle. It was pathetic."

  17. 'Toure is City's key player'published at 10:57 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2015

    Match of the Day

Manchester City crushed Newcastle 5-0 at Etihad Stadium. Sergio Aguero scored a penalty inside the first minute, before goals from Samir Nasri, Edin Dzeko and two from David Silva completed the rout.

BBC Sport pundit Robbie Savage: "City only won one game out of five without Yaya Toure. Edin Dzeko said after the game that David Silva is possibly the best player in the Premier League. But I think Toure is City's most important.

"With him, they're a far, far better team. He was magnificent, showing great strength under pressure to hold people off. He glues the team together. He can receive the ball in tight areas, he can play perfectly weighted passes. He gets the ball and wants it all the time. Yaya Toure is brilliant - it's great to have him back."
