Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has addressed the issue in today's match programme.

Scholes was amazing but Van Gaal not so much at playing football, but does that mean only amazing ex-players can be managers because Gascoigne didn't work out so well but Sir Bobby, Sir Alex and a few other not so great footballers have done OK!

"Against Preston they won 3-1 but was it convincing? No and that was against a League One side. They didn't have a shot on target until the second half against Preston and they seem to play the same way in every game and it will be the same today until Van Gaal makes a change. He has really good game management which is a real strength."

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says he is close to being able to pick his preferred side for the first time this season.
England midfielder Michael Carrick is the only absentee for United's trip to Swansea on Saturday.
Van Gaal said: "In the first four months I have only been able to select the fit players and, as you know, we have always had 10 or 11 injuries. Now, in the last few months we have only one or two players injured, so that is a big difference."

"Louis van Gaal is still the subject of strong criticism. From the long-ball team, to not enough pace in the side, to Wayne Rooney's position, to four at the back, there's still much debate to be had about the new look Manchester United.
"It's worth remembering when he first arrived the importance of an immediate return to the Champions League wasn't overstated. The club also expect to be challenging for silverware. As it stands, he's on course to achieve both.
"The opening day victory for Swansea over Manchester United was one of the highlight's so far of Garry Monk's time in charge and he is now going for an unthinkable league double over the Red Devils.
"Swansea will have to improve on their recent form to give Van Gaal another uncomfortable afternoon, although with the current United team you should never rule out a new debate."

The spotlight tends to be on Manchester United whoever they're playing, but it has been a significant few days for Swansea.
A proposed £30m deal with US billionaire John Moores to buy a 30% stake in the club is not expected to go ahead, but the supporters trust - who own 20% of the shares - expect further investment talks.
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has addressed the issue in today's match programme.
"I'm positive that any movement away from the current set up will only be put in place if everyone connected to our club is convinced it's a good thing for the football club first and foremost," he writes.
"If not, and this is my opinion, I can see the status quo continuing for some years to come."

A couple of hours later, there was a rather different mood among the home fans. Swansea had gatecrashed the party by nicking a 2-1 win.
The Welsh side were the uninvited guest who causes an unsavoury rumpus before sauntering out as everyone else is left stood in stunned silence. After having drank all the free booze of course.
United captain Wayne Rooney's overhead kick cancelled out Ki Sung-yueng's opener for the Welsh side, but some uncertain defending allowed Swans midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson to score a 72nd-minute winner.
