Discussing the problems at Manchester United, who face Spurs later today after losing against Arsenal in the FA Cup on Monday.
Former England winger Trevor Sinclair: "You get that feeling that United are going through different managers and systems and are going back to square one. It must be depressing for United fans to think this could go on for a while. I think it is hugely important how the team is set up - we are looking for the identity of United and we do not know what it is at the moment."
BBC Sport commentator Steve Wilson: "Manchester United have a difficult run of fixtures now but having said that if they win against Spurs then they will be two points behind Manchester City. Clearly, United are not playing well, they were so average against Arsenal and when you look at the money they have spent, then there are going to be big questions if they do not qualify for the Champions League.
"Do they stick with Louis van Gaal? Yes, I think they probably will. Do they spend another £150m? Yes, I think they probably will. I think there will be a lot more changes. I think Van Gaal is a Picasso kind of manager - some think it is genius, I think all the bits are there but in the wrong places."
England women's international Eniola Aluko: "The problem with Van Gaal is that he changes his system every other week so players cannot get that consistency to get that level of performance. The criticism of Van Gaal is that we do not know what they stand for anymore, one day it is long ball, another it is play it out wide."

Richard Atherton, Northwich: Just before a Cheshire Sunday League match the manager stood right beside the striker shouting: "Put that coffee down, get that fag out and get your bottom (the rude word was actually used) off that chair!" We lost 3-0.
James, Surrey: I can remember one half-time as player-manager, ripping my shirt off, screaming at the lads about how poor they'd been and within five minute of the re-start I missed a sitter and was sent off. Bad example.

New Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood's effect on Aston Villa
Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given: "He's been extra positive, he's brought a real spark to the club and a positive manner. Everyone wants to play attacking football and get bodies into the box. We scored four goals, we haven't done that for a long time, but we have a team that has some very attacking players and he wants to use them to cause other teams problems.
"We are doing a lot of attacking systems in training, we are getting a lot of rotation [between players] moving around in different positions. Tim is encouraging players to get on the end of crosses. Confidence is a massive thing in football, we've won the last three games and we are on a high now.
"It's hard to say what would have happened if [former boss] Paul Lambert was still here but Tim has come in with his staff and got everyone looking up the table."

Discussing Sunderland's 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa and Gus Poyet's future...
Former England winger Trevor Sinclair: "You're at home, playing one of your rivals, you don't play one up front. Jermain Defoe on his own up front is not the best way to score goals."
BBC Sport commentator Steve Wilson: "Gus Poyet has got to be on the brink. He won't walk - he's worked very hard to get into the Premier League, so he won't go voluntarily. Sunderland have a decision to make."
England women's international Eniola Aluko: "The players have to take a lot of the responsibility. There was a lot of walking during play - there was no fight or hunger to get the ball. Villa played well, but you have to see more from Sunderland in terms of hunger and desire. It looks like there's a lack of team spirit."

Discussing Cesc Fabregas's lack of recent assists for Chelsea...
Former England winger Trevor Sinclair: "It all depends on his position. Jose Mourinho says he wants Fabregas to play a little deeper, which is fine, but then you won't get the creativity he can bring."
BBC Sport commentator Steve Wilson: "The question is, if you're going to move Fabregas higher up the pitch, who do you leave out? The likes of Oscar and Willian wouldn't be happy about that."
England women's international Eniola Aluko: "There's no need to panic with Fabregas; he's that good a player. If Chelsea weren't playing well then it might be different. But it's just a dip in form, and I'm sure that by the end of the season we'll be talking about more Fabregas assists and goals."
Chelsea make one change from the team that went out of the Champions League to Paris St-Germain in midweek, with Willian coming in for Ramires in midfield. Nemanja Matic has recovered from an ankle problem to take his place in the starting line-up. Spain striker Diego Costa starts up front.
Southampton make four changes, with striker Graziano Pelle dropped to the bench. Shane Long starts in his place and joins Sadio Mane in attack. Midfielders Dusan Tadic and Steven Davis and defender Toby Alderweireld also start.
Chelsea XI: Courtois, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Matic, Fabregas, Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Costa.
Southampton XI: Forster, Clyne, Fonte, Alderweireld, Bertrand, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Davis, Tadic, Mane, Long.

Burnley's 1-0 win over Manchester City on Saturday lifted them to within one point of safety.
Burnley defender Steven Reid: "We are getting to that stage now when it doesn't matter who we play as we have to get the result. Every game is like a cup final.
"I have been in a couple of relegation fights before - last season with West Brom and with Blackburn - but there is a different feel about this one. There isn't as much pressure as there was an expectancy that we would go straight back down.
"That goal was no fluke yesterday - George Boyd works on that in training. I joked after the game I would take an assist for that as we work on that in training. I ping the ball in, he finds that bottom corner for fun."

On whether Burnley can stay in the Premier League
Former England winger Trevor Sinclair: "I give them a good chance of surviving, Sean Dyche is a top-drawer manager; the way he speaks about his players, the work-rate, the team's shape and the belief. You look at the way some teams spend loads of money, he's hardly spent anything. A lot of people will want them to stay up because they have done it the right way, for me."
So Jose Mourinho keeps faith with 10 of the players who went out of the Champions League in midweek. Good management, Chelsea fans? Should he have chopped more players?

Discussing Manchester City's situation after their 1-0 defeat at Burnley on Saturday. They are five points behind leaders Chelsea, who have two games in hand.
Former Man City player Trevor Sinclair: "For me the biggest thing is playing 4-4-2, they are trying to get striker Wilfried Bony in the team - round holes in square pegs and it is not working. You look at the leaders in the team - there is always something going on with Yaya Toure."
BBC Sport commentator Steve Wilson: "With all due respect, Man City should be able to pick any team and pick up points against a team like Burnley, who did nonetheless work hard and play very well."
England women's international Eniola Aluko: "With City playing 4-4-2, against a clever team, their midfielders will get in the the space between midfield and defence. But with Sergio Aguero up front you have always got a chance - we have seen so many times when they are playing badly that Aguero comes up with the goods."
One change for Chelsea from the side that went out of the Champions League against Paris St-Germain in midweek with midfielder Willian coming in for Ramires. Graziano Pelle is missing from Southampton's line-up.

On Chelsea's approach against Southampton after losing against Paris St-Germain and seeing Manchester City lose to Burnley.
Former England winger Trevor Sinclair: "The Manchester City defeat won't plaster over what happened against PSG, the confidence won't be as high as it has been. It will be one they need to win, if they get that eight-point gap, it's important. Arsenal are looking strong to so they need to keep them as far away as possible. I think Jose Mourinho will say to his players: 'you win this game, you win the league'."
England women's international Eniola Aluko: "Sometimes losing for Chelsea is the best thing, you get a reaction and that is the Jose Mourinho way. The comments flying about between him and [Sky pundits] Graeme Souness and Jamie Carragher, that will be part of the motivation. With Manchester City losing on Saturday and losing on Wednesday, there is added motivation and it takes the pressure off. There is a difference between having City two points behind, and having them five points behind."
BBC Sport commentator Steve Wilson: "Chelsea don't go out and play, Jose Mourinho doesn't do that. Southampton are a decent team as well. I don't know why Mourinho's team play this way. [His former team] Porto were a horrible to team to play against in 2003, and I don't know why Chelsea play like that."

BBC Match of the Day commentator Guy Mowbray at Stamford Bridge: "Chelsea, by their own standards, have not exactly been flying. They have only scored one goal in each of their last three home league games. But even that draw against Burnley doesn't look that bad after yesterday's result.
"I wonder if that win (for Burnley against Manchester City) will lift a whole load of pressure off Chelsea after that defeat on Wednesday.
"It was a big win for Southampton last week, it got them back on track a bit. I think they will be fighting all the way to the end - probably for a top four place.
"They have done things a little bit different. I like Ronald Koeman's touch, when they had a midweek break in the Swiss Alps."
