We asked you which former Premier League player you would like to see back in the English top flight next season and why?

Alex Brown:, external Olof Mellberg for me. Loved the Villa and always gave 100%. We wouldn't be in the mess we are with him at the back.

Great bloke, gave every away fan a shirt on his last game.

Patrick G:, external Yohan Cabaye. That Olly Giroud would never have won best looking Premier League player with dreamboat back in a Toon shirt.

Chris King:, external Carlos Tevez. He has unfinished business at West Ham.

Last week, England's representatives in the Europa League were rather upstaged by a pulsating 3-3 draw between Scottish champions Celtic and Italian heavyweights Inter Milan.

If the second leg is half as good, it should be an absolute cracker. Can Ronny Deila pull off arguably the biggest result of his Celtic career to date?

We'll keep you updated on the key moments, but if you want to follow every shot and save in Milan, check out our dedicated live text of Inter v Celtic.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, speaking to ITV4: "It'll be a brilliant atmosphere. Our young players play at one of the most intimidating grounds in world football - Anfield. It's a great experience for them and I hope they'll cope.

"We have got a lot of games, but the selection has been more because of the injuries. We've a lot of players out injured, who haven't been able to travel. As you see on the team sheet, there are a lot of young players and we'll hope they'll benefit from the experience.

"We understand every game is difficult, but the players have been outstanding. We changed the way of playing around November time, but that's determined by the players and how they follow that. The team will be energetic tonight for sure.

"I said to the players that we have to be patient. In the opening 20 minutes, try to control the game and dominate the ball. If you can't do that, then you try to dominate without the ball."

Asked by commentator Sam Matterface if he has decided who will take a penalty if Liverpool get one: "Yes, you'll take it."

It's a cracking atmosphere in Istanbul, plenty of flags flying and a whole world of noise. An early Liverpool goal could kill it down.

Paul Davies:, external Love Rafael Van der Vaart, but really, Paul Pogba. So much volley quality.

I'm sure all Manchester United fans wish he had never left for Juventus... on a free transfer.

Waqas Hussain:, external Arjen Robben to Chelsea. Was quality for our back-to-back title-winning team. Has been magnificent since.

Mark Ball:, external Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo, the two greatest players that are still playing that have graced the Premier League.

That's a whole new debate right there Mark.

Is Demba Ba fit or not? I'm none the wiser after that.

    He does start though.

Besiktas coach Slaven Bilic, speaking to ITV4: "A 1-0 scoreline is a good result for Liverpool but it gives us hope and a chance. We will have to be as compact and disciplined as we were at Anfield, but with the ball we will have to be a little bit more creative. We have to use the big amount of space they give you sometimes because they attack with numbers.

"Demba Ba is not 100% fit but he wasn't in Liverpool. But if he wasn't fit, he wouldn't play tonight. He's fit, he's on fire and we need him big time to beat Liverpool tonight.

"We have great supporters. The stadium is not in the centre of town so it's not usually full, but the fans are going to be or 12th player."

Kev Kev The King:, external Eduardo. A hell of a striker before 'that' tackle against Birmingham.

The former Arsenal goal-hanger, who scored 20 goals in 67 games for the Gunners, is now at Flamengo.

Martin Samuel:, external‏ Definitely Nemanja Vidic. Was one of the best headers of the ball I've seen.

Five Premier League titles with Manchester United and now in mid-table with Inter... maybe he would come back.

In tonight's later game, Everton are surely, surely already through against the Swiss side Young Boys. Four away goals in the first leg means that unless they lose 4-0 (or heavier) they are in the last 16.

Rich, Southampton: Mine would have to be Dirk Kuyt - tireless worker, never stopped running.

Kevin Uppal from Leeds: "One former player" - I guess the rules include players that left due to retirement. Scholes, Scholes and Scholes. If Pirlo can still do it....so can Scholes. Gosh I hope he's reading this.

Luke H: Luka Modric. Such an elegant and composed passer of the ball.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers named five teenagers in the squad tonight as he prepares to take on Besiktas in the midst of an injury crisis.
