In Spain, Sevilla are sitting pretty against fellow La Liga side Villarreal. It's goalless on the night and that suits Unai Emery's team just fine, thanks to their 3-1 victory in the first leg.

It's tight in Amsterdam, where Ajax need to score to keep their campaign alive. So far, Dnipro have created the better chances, with Nikola Kalinic going close for the Ukrainian team.

Club Brugge are the only last-16 side to have made it this far without losing a game and they're half-way to maintaining that record against Besiktas. It's 0-0 in Turkey and the Belgian club lead 2-1 on aggregate.

Carl Bedford: The problem's simple, too much money in the English game has led to a lack of continuity, success has to be instant,

Ashley Graham: The way Germany responded after Euro 2000 has paid huge dividend for their national team and league, we need to follow suit.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

What a chance for Inter. These need to go in if Inter are to pull off the finest comeback since the last great one I mentioned. A cross from the right lands at the feet of Fredy Guarin, he connects well enough but Diego Benaglio pushes it over.

Sevilla are clearly quite content to sit back and look for chances to hit Villarreal on the break. Aleix Vidal has half a chance to put the hosts further ahead but delays his shot and Sergio Asenjo smothers the opportunity. At the other end, Manu Trigueros drags a shot wide from the edge of the box.

Zenit are managed by former Chelsea and Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas, will he lift a European trophy again? He won this cup with Porto four years back.

The German side go close again as goalscorer Daniel Caligiuri has a curling shot pushed away. Still only one goal in the late kick-offs.

Inter's belief has been extinguished by Wolfsburg's away goal. Inter need to score five now, and have Roberto Mancini in charge.

Dnipro continue to create the better chances against Ajax. Douglas really should have done better from 15 yards but his shot was weak and Jasper Cillessen was able to hang on to the shot.

Little to report from Spain so far, where Villarreal trail Sevilla 3-1 on aggregate. Heavy rain means there's plenty of water around but Yellow Submarine are on the back foot as the hosts have started purposefully.

Sedate start to life in Turin. Can Torino join city rivals Juventus in extending their European season? They need two goals to draw level.

Besiktas knocked out Liverpool but they have a bit of work to do if they want to dispose of Club Brugge. The second leg of that tie is goalless in Turkey but the Belgian side have a handy 2-1 first-leg lead.

Rizpey: Remember Everton were up against a side that are unbeaten in Ukrainian Premier League.

Matt Collingwood: This week has shown us why managers like van Gaal are abandoning the direct English style and focusing on possession. Evolution

Paul Blayney: Conceding 5 against a team who looked ordinary is criminal. Terrible decision to start Alcaraz who's had 3 bad games in a row.

FreddyHowardinho: What manager goes into an away leg in Europe only needing a draw and says "I don't expect a 0-0". Kamikaze Martinez of course!

Silence in the San Siro as Wolfsburg take another step towards the last eight. Former Chelsea man Kevin de Bruyne does the donkey work down the left and crosses in for Daniel Caligiuri, his shot is half-saved by Juan Pablo Carrizo and loops into the net.

British teams may be out of Europe, but there are no fewer than 13 British officials in charge at the games at Inter Milan and Sevilla.

Referees Mark Clattenburg and Martin Atkinson and their various assistants fly the flag now. Go well.
