Fiorentina take their place in Friday's quarter-final draw after seeing off Italian rivals Roma.

The tie was finely poised after a 1-1 draw in the first leg but Vincenzo Montella's side were out of sight within 22 minutes.

Gonzalo Rodriguez scored from the penalty spot before Marcos Alonso made it 2-0 in the 18th minute. Four minutes later it was 3-0 and 4-1 on aggregate when Jose Maria Basanta weighed in with a goal.

Nathan Jones: All English teams now out of Europe, something needs to change.

Emmanuel Tange: Hard to tell what happened to English teams this year, I still love EPL though.

Rob Boles: Random Fact: There's been the same number of goals scored in this one tie as Rebrov scored in 4 whole seasons at Tottenham.

Romelu Lukaku claps the travelling fans, who have seen an extraordinary game tonight. The last Premier League side in Europe have been eliminated.

Romelu Lukaku has another shot well saved from a tight angle. Everton on the way out but going down with a fight.

  5. Postpublished at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Lovely feet from Ross Barkley to break out and find Romelu Lukaku, one thing on his mind which is a powerful strike which forces Olexandr Shovkovskiy into action.

There are four minutes to be added on. Everton need two goals. A sporting miracle.

Ross Barkley hit the woodwork twice tonight - if they had gone in Everton would be going through. As it is, they're heading out with a first away defeat of the European season.

Unless - Leon Osman has a shot saved. Last few minutes...

Rizpey: Is the biggest ever European comeback on?

Leighton Baines takes it - but into the wall. That needed to go in.

We had a 5-4 the other week at the Bernabeu. Up for another? Everton are running out of time.

Ten goals in the tie, this is getting silly now as captain Phil Jagielka heads in at the near post. Everton need another two goals for the most ludicrous comeback of all time.

Fqiren: How many goal of the tournament contenders have we seen in this match? Unbelievable!

SamadGigii: That was Gheorghe Hagi-like. Stunning.

Daniel Woodley: What a stunning strike that it. Take nothing away from Kiev here as they deserve it but Everton have been embarrassing.

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

I'm trying to think of a better left-footed hit than that goal from Antunes. Christian Ziege hit a few like that in his time, Gio van Bronckhorst in the 2010 World Cup semi-final - and now off the bar!

Almost six for Kiev as Everton are once again put through the shredder, Andriy Yarmolenko rattling the crossbar. Call it off, someone call it off..

Andy P: Hopeless from Everton, as they have been all year. Martinez disembowelled the team Moyes built and has to go... before we're relegated!

Richard Clarke: Martinez has been revelling in and talking up the distraction that is the Europa League. In half an hour he'll have to face up to their appalling league position and maybe the sack!

Rob, Newbury: A third-rate manager creating a third rate team. Everton fans should look at his record - his legacy at Wigan. Give him two more years and Everton will be a Championship club.

You have to applaud that! What a goal from Antunes! Ridiculous strike, a 30-yard scorcher into the top corner. A brilliant, brilliant goal! Everton are going out but there was pretty much nothing you can do about that.
