    Chelsea's Premier League stats

Chelsea have been top for the entire season so far (they didn't play their opening game until the Monday which might explain their initial position in that graphic.) They are top by three points from Manchester City with two games (including this one) in hand.

    Hull stats

Hull started off very well but they are in the relegation mixer now, three points above 18th-placed Burnley.

"Jose Mourinho will not allow these players be complacent. He will not be relaxed yet, but he will want to show these players that he is relaxed and comfortable in the situation. But there's something about being at the top of the table and being chased down that makes life uncomfortable for mangers.

"He'll be in that changing room before kick-off getting in to his players the importance of putting on a strong performance in this game."

  3. 'Abnormally low'published at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March 2015

Chelsea published a bizarre 615-word article on their website,, external complaining about the lack of penalties they have received this season.

    Chelsea statementImage source, chelsea website

"It is in our 28 Premier League games this season where we have been awarded just two penalties... Historically, this figure seems abnormally low."

Jose Mourinho denied it was a provocative piece.

"Not for me," the Blues manager said. "I don't think the writer is going to win the Pulitzer with that article. It's just the numbers.

"It's such a simple thing and for me there is no story. How many penalties has this team had? Five. How many penalties has that team have? Eight. How many penalties has this team had? One."

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admits their exit from the Champions League last 16 might actually boost their Premier League title bid.

"It's the second time I don't reach a quarter-final in all my career. I would prefer to be there," he said.

"The fact we went out gives us a frustrating situation. That we don't hide.

"But it gives us a situation where we can work properly, we can rest properly and - if things go in the direction I expect and the players expect - we can finish the season in a very strong way."

Hull have until 18:00 GMT on Monday to respond to a Football Association charge of failing to control their players against Leicester.

Tigers boss Steve Bruce defended his players against charges of referee intimidation and accused Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez of trying to get his baby boy, Alex, sent off.

"My players were [reacting to] the injustice of the referee," said Bruce.

"I've got respect for Mahrez, but the way he rolled around - he was blatantly trying to get someone sent off.

"We surrounded the referee because it was a perfectly fair challenge. We will vigorously defend it."

In what is becoming a dull saga (most football stories that drag on are), Hull were told they can make a fresh bid to change their name to Hull Tigers next season.

Predictably, the Hull City Supporters' Trust came out again to urge owner Assem Allam to abandon those plans.

Hull boss Steve Bruce has been a big fan of Jose Mourinho ever since the Chelsea boss sent Mikael Forssell on loan to Birmingham.

"I sent him a crate of red to say thank you," Bruce said in the build-up to today's game. "He enjoyed my taste in red wine. What you see is what you get with Jose and when you call him he always tries to help.

"Jose Mourinho is without doubt bordering on greatness. When you talk about the great managers Jose is going to be one of them.

"I have the hugest respect for what he has achieved and what he is. I believe he is box office and that we are better off with him in the Premier League - even if they were easier to take something against when he wasn't involved."

What is it about Premier League managers and red wine chat? The best thing about Alex Ferguson retiring was that we'd gotten rid of all that nonsense, I'd thought.

Ewan, Portsmouth: Surely any of the top four can still win the league? Chelsea have got a couple of big games left such as Arsenal, could go down to the final day in my opinion. It's not over yet.

John Terry makes his 450th Premier League appearance for Chelsea today. Only four players have played more for one club; Ryan Giggs (632), Jamie Carragher (508), Paul Scholes (499) and Steven Gerrard (499 including today's 48-second run-out).

Diego Costa has scored one goal in Chelsea's last eight games, albeit in their last outing at Southampton. The title is surely beyond doubt if he can pick up his early-season form again, where he scored seven goals in their opening four matches.

    Mark Lawrenson prediction

"Chelsea's results in 2015 have not been great but that drop in form is demonstrated by the number of games they have drawn (seven out of 16) rather than lost (two) which is why they are still clear at the top of the table.

"They will feel they should have beaten Southampton last week, but didn't, and I cannot see them being denied again by Hull.

"Jose Mourinho's side can clearly play a lot better than they have been, and I think they will end the season with a really good run.

"Hull have got to play six of the top seven teams in their last nine games but I still think they will stay up.

"At this stage of the season, a game against a team fighting for their lives at the bottom is probably harder than a game against a team who are seventh with nothing to play for."

Hull have tweeted the team sheets for both sides. Jose Mourinho's not even trying with that signature, maybe he's making sure it doesn't look like the one on the back of his debit card.

Although at least he signed Chelsea's, Hull boss Steve Bruce leaves it down to the kit man to do theirs.
