  1. CLOSE!published at 17:43 British Summer Time 18 April 2015

Paddy McNair with a silky touch and a good turn of pace to bring the ball out from defence and beat a man. He has Radamel Falcao to his left but elects to shoot instead, the ball zipping wide via John Terry's studs. Impressive from the youngster.

Lovely feet from Cesc Fabregas as he runs onto a cute pass from Eden Hazard, skips around a defender but Ander Herrera stays with him and puts it out for a corner.

Fabregas is playing in the '10' role today.

Jeremiah Kariuki: Just like De Gea, I was celebrating the goal that never was! A good start though

John Pierce: De Gea celebrates ghost goal. Most amusing.

Akude Emeka O: Oops!!! De Gea got fooled there.

Donald Oluoch: De Gea is really anxious for a Man UTD goal. Some comic relief there for all the fans.

He should have scored, probably, but Wayne Rooney growing in influence, zinging passes wide from midfield and then moving into the box late on. Antonio Valencia is quick to strip the ball from Eden Hazard. United on the front foot in the early stages.

  7. CLOSE!published at 17:35 British Summer Time 18 April 2015

What an effort! The away fans thought this was in, and I did for a moment too. Luke Shaw gets clear down the left for Manchester United and picks out Wayne Rooney, who bends in a left-footer from 18 yards.

It hits the stanchion behind the goal and bounces across the back of the net. It looks very much like a goal. So much so that at the other end David De Gea turns his back to play and celebrates with the fans...

Manchester United have won their last six league games but it's Chelsea who start well, putting United under pressure early on. Cesc Fabregas is playing higher up the pitch with Kurt Zouma alongside Nemanja Matic in the engine room. Wayne Rooney in front of his own back four.

Collegehilltutor: (United fan here) I wear size nines. If Falcao scores today I will eat my shoe.

Yinka: Makes me nervous to know we are up against Fabregas who has 17 assists with no defensive mid.

Jay Hogaro: Changes could prove costly for Manchester United. Would have been great to see the side that have been doing so well have a go.

Sammiiee!!: Still no Remy, I don't mind Solanke today, just won the UEFA youth cup, probably brimming with confidence.

The teams are out in the Stamford Bridge tunnel.

'Come on, come on, come on!' shouts Jose Mourinho as he walks past his team, while England captains past and present John Terry and Wayne Rooney shake hands. 'All the best' says JT. Insincerely.

  13. De Gea away?published at 17:24 British Summer Time 18 April 2015

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty at Stamford Bridge

"Yet more speculation surrounding Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea today, with fresh links to Real Madrid. The vastly experienced Victor Valdes is his understudy and if the former Barcelona keeper's form in the warm-up here is anything to go by he has still got it. He has pulled off a string of magnificent saves, especially one high to his left from Ashley Young. It may only be the warm-up but he looks like a man who means business."

  14. Title is Chelsea's to losepublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 18 April 2015

    Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown
    Football Focus

"Last week's goal at QPR was a big goal. Chelsea are a bit bare at the top of the team, with Diego Costa injured they need Loic Remy back and Didier Drogba is nowhere near the player he once was.

"There are so many points ahead, they need to be professional now and it is theirs to lose."

    BBC Sport pundit Robbie Savage

"Chelsea will be champions if they win their next three games but I think they will be happy just to avoid defeat against Manchester United on Saturday.

    Jose MourinhoImage source, Getty Images

"United's confidence is sky-high after their run of six straight wins and their performances have been as impressive as their results.

"We have seen a more settled United line-up in the last few weeks and they are benefiting at both ends of the pitch. They have clicked up front, and they have also been much improved at the back."

Jamie Matthews: Radamel Falcao, if there was ever a moment to prove you're good enough to play for United, this is it! Take your chance son!

Eyobel gomini: Falcao set to bang a brace and save his United career!

Martins: Fellaini won the battle against Toure, let's see against Zouma.

Matt Harding: Was far more confident last week about facing Chelsea than this week. Carrick a huge miss. Time for Falcao to find some form?
