How fast is Raphael Varane? He's like a young Des Walker. He put a sprint in against Atletico that was Martin Offiah-esque. 80 yards, one goal to the other, in a matter of seconds.

"I've been watching Raphael Varane and can't help but laugh when people try to take him on for pace. The boy is ludicrously fast. Carlos Tevez just wants the ball into his feet on the edge of the box, because anything long and beyond him is wasting his time.
"All the buzz in the press room at half-time was about how open this game has been. Let's hope for more of the same in this second half."
All-action Carlos Tevez pops up on the ball again, 25 yards out on his left foot, he bends in a shot straight at Iker Casillas. He's the top scorer in Serie A this season. Mind you Luca Toni is about third on the list. And he's 48.
Instant booking for Carlos Tevez, whipping the heels away from Sergio Ramos. Press high, but not that high Carlitos.
Back under way in Turin.
The players are back out. Cristiano Ronaldo was celebrating his 76th Champions League goal in that first half - 77 on the way?
Paul Pogba watches on from the stands.
Lucas: Absolutely great game, only question is, is Bale playing? (see 20:41 for confirmation, Lucas)
Srihari: Ronaldo and Bale don't need to pass or get too many touches to influence the game. One moment is all it takes.
Blossom: Juventus will spring a surprise...

If I was starting a new game with Real on a popular football management game Robbie, I'd be looking to replace Marcelo and Iker Casillas quick sharp.
Robbie Fowler
Former Liverpool, Leeds and England striker
"Surely a club the standard + quality of Real Madrid can get a better left back than the one they've got in Marcelo? Only ever seen him have 1 good game."
Gareth Bale only had 14 touches in that first half - the fewest on the pitch. Marcelo had the most with 53.

"If you look at the games both teams took to get here, there were 1-0 wins over both legs for both sides, so I was expecting this to be cagey, a bit of a chess match maybe. Wrong! It's been absolutely superb. It's been really open. I am really surprised how open the Real midfield has been in particular."
You're right Josh. You get the feeling that if Real can put together a 90-minute, even a 60-minute performance together, they'll be too strong for Juve.
Khan Karn: What would Man Utd or City would do to have Carlos Tevez in their team right now? Sergio Aguero apart (and possibly Wayne Rooney) he is better than the rest.
Josh Hammond: Amazing play from Real. Weird how one minute they look bored and lethargic, then they destroy a defence with a move like that (see 41 mins).

Cristiano Ronaldo's goalscoring achievements are astounding. Interestingly though - perhaps - he only made 10 passes in that first half. Only Gareth bale - nine - made fewer.
Bale is not at his best as a centre-forward it seems.

"It's been a great game, really entertaining, and a brilliant atmosphere. I cannot wait for the next 45 minutes. Cristiano Ronaldo got Real back on level terms, and we can add the ability to be in the right place at the right time to his array of amazing talents."
One apiece at the break. Juventus were sensational for 20 minutes, Real impressive for 20 or so. Evens.
Ian: Astonishing miss from James, but Real now moving through the gears.
Phil Delves: Juve a little too keen to take the long shot. Stark contrast to Real who are working the flanks much better.
James Cunnigham: So as soon as Real link up well and actually play as a team they score... hmmm...

Isco has grown into the game but after a nice move into the channel he puts his pass out of play. Sloppy.
Wonderful football from Real Madrid, it really was. Juventus will be happy to get in level after that scare.

"I cannot believe James Rodriguez missed from there, after the best move of the night. That would have been one of the best goals we have seen in the Champions League this season. The pace at which Real Madrid moved the ball, it was lightning. What a goal that just nearly was, all for about two inches. Juventus were torn to shreds."
