Cristiano Ronaldo moved closer to becoming Real Madrid's all-time top goal scorer after netting the opener against Juventus.

Infostrada Sports says the goal is Ronaldo's 307th across all competitions for Los Blancos, matching club legend Alfredo Di Stefano in second, just 16 goals away from record holder Raul.

Paul Pogba having a bad run of it, first he gives the ball away cheaply and then a panicked clearance falls for Marcelo who shoots wide. Pogba not at his best, he's looking laboured now.

  3. CLOSE!published at 20:56 British Summer Time 13 May 2015

Nice try! Claudio Marchisio, who scored from similar range for Italy v England in the jungle of Manaus last summer, arrows a drive just wide of Iker Casillas' post. Juve having a good spell.

One more! Ah, Juventus craft a lovely move and Paul Pogba is all alone to Alvaro Morata's left but the forward can't squeeze out a pass and he's tackled.

There's a goal in this tie for Juve, there sure is.

Paul Pogba doesn't look fully fit, well he isn't fully fit. But you know what I mean. Half baked, he gives the ball away cheaply and invites a Real counter. Gaps in the Juve midfield, but Marcelo's cross is poor.

The Juve players are out early, Real making them wait in the humid Madrid night. Juve need a goal remember, how long before they go for it? The more open it gets, the more goals Real will fancy on the break...

Oh we'll go all day Jonny. You'll do well to find an entry from me without a cliché, to be fair.

Kritt Normsaskul: Real well on top. Another Real goal and this tie may run away from Juve.

Right out of the co-commentator's big book of cliches Richard. Top work.

'In a funny way that goal doesn't actually change anything...'

That's just below 'the keeper will be disappointed to be beaten at his near post...'

Richard Clarke in Bath: The next goal is an odd one, because if Madrid score Juve still only need one, albeit to take it to extra time rather than win.

Sometimes the long ball ain't the wrong ball! Gareth Bale with a peach of a pass, 50-yards over the top and inch perfect for Cristiano Ronaldo's run. Ronaldo sizes it up and lashes a left-footed drive into the side-netting.

Moments later Karim Benzema tests Gianluigi Buffon with a low shot and Sergio Ramos then heads over from the corner. Great stuff.

Gareth Bale earns a round of applause for a tackle at right-back but he remains peripheral in the Real attack. He's had 12 touches so far - only Raphael Varane has had fewer for Real. Karim Benzema shapes a shot over from 22 yards as the early breakneck tempo just threatens to calm down.
