A big first half from Colchester United as Jacob Murphy's early goal is enough to give them a 1-0 lead over Swindon in League One.

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 28 April 2015

Half-time and no goals to report. A tense and fairly niggly opening half.

If it stays like this then Millwall will not be relegated tonight - but Wigan will.

Hull continue to cause Liverpool problems. Dame N'Doye drops his shoulder and races into the penalty area. His touch is too heavy and Simon Mignolet collects.

Liverpool may still have their eyes on the top four but they aren't yet guaranteed a place in Europe for next season as the table at the start of the evening shows.

Only the teams finishing fifth and sixth are certain to make the Europa League, although if Arsenal win the FA Cup, that becomes open to seventh as well.

Could the Reds be cheering on the Gunners come the season end?

There can be few complaints about this scoreline. Hull have created the better chances throughout the half. Into the last five minutes.

"That may well be the best assistant referee decision of the season. From our position there were three offside but it's the right decision.

"Just before that corner kick happened Liverpool left three up against three. It leaves gaps at the back. There's a reason why teams don't do that."

The KC Stadium erupts as Michael Dawson beats Liverpool's woeful offside trap to give Hull the lead. Ahmed Elmohamady lifts the ball into the penalty area from the right and Dawson ghosts in unmarked to loop a header over goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and into the net.

Where was Liverpool's defence? They are appealing for offside but not a chance.

A reminder that Hull went into the game just a point ahead of the drop zone. Liverpool are seven points behind the top four and a Champions League place.

There is a lot riding on this.

No goals in the crucial Championship fixture - remember a win for Rotherham will relegate both Millwall and Wigan - but there is news on the injury front.

A collision involving a player and a ball-boy has seen the latter, a young 13-year-old lad, shepherded down the tunnel, unable to continue.

Mario Balotelli is cutting a frustrated figure - when doesn't he?

The striker has had just one touch inside Hull's penalty area - as shown by his touch graphic above. No lack of effort from the Italian though.

  20. CLOSE!published at 20:13 British Summer Time 28 April 2015

    How aren't Hull ahead there?

Robbie Brady advances down the right and his cross is headed goalwards by Jake Livermore. Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet can only parry the ball in the air, Sone Aluko prods it back towards goal but Glen Johnson is on the line to hack clear.

Pinball in the penalty area but Liverpool survive.
