Now I'm not sure if Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is a fan of seminal punk rockers The Clash or not. But the lyrics of their classic 1981 single 'Should I Stay or Should I Go' could well be floating around the Chilean's mind.

Or, to be more accurate, the phrase 'should Pellegrini stay or should he go' is probably at the forefront of the minds of City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and chief executive Ferran Soriano...
