"Hard to have anything but utter admiration for Steven Gerrard. The epitome of everything that's required to be a great footballer."
It's been a big week politically but let's deal with the serious stuff, who would you pick in your football cabinet?

"It's been at times over aggressive, we've had two goals from two inspirational figures for their clubs."
The sides look like heading into half-time on level terms then, with two ex-England captains scoring simple headers.

"You almost can't write the script. You think of the two gaols, good old fashioned headers. I wonder if it was Mikel who was supposed to be marking Gerrard, the technique is perfect. Heads it down and into the corner. When they get the free-kick there is a lot of work to be done and the block on Thibaut Courtois is the reason that goal is scored."
Two poor goals from set-pieces! Steven Gerrard evades the attentions of Jon Mikel Obi to nod Liverpool level at the far post. Woeful defending. Gerrard has been getting plenty of grief from the Chelsea fans but his celebrations are pretty muted.
I'll be mildly amazed if this game doesn't end with at least one red card. Branislav Ivanovic is the latest to go in the book.
Some of the Chelsea players are phoning in this display, the title is won after all, but Loic Remy is aiming to make the most of his chance. He starts a nice move down the left, goes for a one-two but Eden Hazard's return ball is poor. Moments later Hazard skins Emre Can and wins a corner.
Some news reaching us from the aftermath of the lunchtime League One play-off game between Preston and Chesterfield, which Preston won 3-0 and 4-0 on aggregate.
Chesterfield captain Ian Evatt has said he was "punched, kicked and spat on several times" by rival fans who entered the pitch after the match.
Evatt, who used to play for Blackpool, Preston's Lancashire rivals, said: "To be attacked on a football pitch and fear for your safety is an absolute disgrace."
Chesterfield said Evatt had given a statement to police "following an alleged assault as he left the pitch, surrounded by fans".
A huge cheer as Steven Gerrard falls on his backside when challenging Cesc Fabregas. You'll never live it down Steven. Never.
Can Chelsea get a second before the break? They send the big guns up for a free-kick.
Listening to your inner youth can get you into trouble. Wise words from Pat there. Boring, boring Chelsea? I wouldn't go along with that bit it's a boring, boring game.

"There is no way young Zouma can carry on. He is lightning fast and Rickie Lambert just ran away from him, so he definitely can't carry on. His youth is telling him to carry on but there's no point taking a chance now, you can do some serious damage."
Kurt Zouma comes off, limping on one leg. Gary Cahill comes on. Solid deputy.
David Warner: I absolutely would have Lambert back at Southampton next season. He suits our style and would be good competition for Pellé.
Matthew Rouhani: Still trying to figure out how Coutinho made the team of the year ahead of Aguero, Silva, Eriksen, Cazorla & Cesc.
Kurt Zouma was hobbling very early on after an awkward landing and he is now sitting down pointing suspiciously at his right knee. Looks like the end of his game as Diego Costa watches on from the stands. He's in with the fans today. He's just an Ordinary Joe.
Earlier today former Liverpool turned West Ham striker Andy Carroll uploaded an Instagram video, external of him flipping pancakes. A short while later and he's cooking again, this time a barbecue. He is on a post-season diet already it seems.
Terrible punch from Simon Mignolet, flapping at a Cesc Fabregas corner and almost steering it into his own net. Liverpool can't deal with Chelsea's set-pieces as Willian's corner from the other side flashes across the goalmouth.
