  1. CLOSE!published at 21:25 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

Tomas Rosicky straight into the action as he plays a one-two with Theo Walcott and then flashes a shot across goal. He can laugh about it...

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

Arsenal throw on Tomas Rosicky for the last 10 minutes, he replaces Mesut Ozil. It looks increasingly like finishing 0-0 though.

  3. Postpublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

Sunderland have used all of their subs and have a nervous few moments when Seb Larson needs treatment but he's able to continue. That will add on some injury time though.

  4. Postpublished at 21:20 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

Santi Cazorla has played 129 passes in the Arsenal midfield, Sunderland's most prolific distributor has been Lee Cattermole with 35.

Fifteen to go. A big 15 minutes for Sunderland, possibly for Hull fans too. As it stands Sunderland are safe.

  6. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

That is extraordinarily close! Aaron Ramsey's cross is missed by Seb Coates, it strikes Billy Jones right behind him on the shoulder and loops up against the inside of the crossbar and bounces away. So close!

  7. CLOSE!published at 21:15 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

Theo Walcott's introduction is a lively one, bursting into a pocket of space, chipping Costel Pantilimon from the tightest of angles but there's no power on the shot and Sebastian Coates is cool enough to clear his lines.

I'd like to argue with you Stavros but to be honest I can't recall the last time I saw Mesut Ozil have a memorable game.

Into the final 20 minutes. Sunderland can plan their trips to Old Trafford and Anfield instead of Ashton Gate and Milton Keynes if it stays like this.

Geoff Ramm: Since when did good defending get confused with parking the bus?

Gregory Mandapat: If this result holds, surely Man Utd won't beat Hull by 8 goals, even with the Tigers fighting for survival. Surely..

Stavros Makrozachopo: With all due respect i think Mesut Ozil is playing because of his reputation and nothing more. He's absolutely shocking.

  10. CLOSE!published at 21:11 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

What a chance! Patrick van Aanholt has a shot from 25 yards out, he scuffs it rather and it turns into a pass for Steven Fletcher, ghosted the wrong side of Per Mertesacker, six yards out, over!

He was on the stretch but that was a massive chance.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

Alexis Sanchez heads wide when off balance, I make that Arsenal's 20th attempt. Jack Wilshere has got through an hour of his first start since November and on comes Theo Walcott.

  12. Postpublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

Theo Walcott is summoned. Can he be the ice-breaker? Under half an hour to go now.

"Sunderland have had three very presentable chances here, two for Steven Fletcher and one from Patrick van Aanholt, and have not been able to beat Arsenal keeper David Ospina. How vital could that be?

"The game is suddenly very stretched. Sunderland are dangerous at one end - but look a lot more vulnerable at the other. Nervous times."

It's a much better game to watch now, if not too open for Dick Advocaat's liking. Will Sunderland rue that miss from Steven Fletcher? A huge chance.

Arsenal look like scoring now, they are cranking up the pressure...

  15. CLOSE!published at 21:02 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

    Great chance at both ends!

First, Jack Wilshere's pass is brilliant to open up the game and Alexis Sanchez sees his strike brilliantly blocked by Sebastian Coates. Goal-saving.

Jermain Defoe hooks the clearance downfield from left-back and Steven Fletcher is away! Clean through, he tries to chip David Ospina who is able to push it away. Poor finish.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:00 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

Another good save from Costel Pantilimon, stretching out to catch a flying header from Kieran Gibbs. Arsenal's 15th effort of the night - is the game finally opening up?

Jordan Cooper: I'm watching the Italian cup final which is less defensive, now that's saying something.

Shane Daly: Won't be before long that EVERY away team parks the bus, 19 away games, it may equal 20 points on the road

Damian Fogarty: Arsenal look weary so far early in this second half. Sunderland had two good chances... if they had better quality finishing.

Well done Costel Pantilimon! Big save from the big man, reacting superbly to keep out Olivier Giroud's flicked shot. Hector Bellerin's low cross was met on the volley by the Frenchman but Pantilimon's big hand clawed it away.

Jeremy: Arsenal look lost. Run out of ideas in the final furlong on yet another season.

Andy in Norwich: As a fan I don't feel we need new players or a managerial change, but perhaps an improved attitude from supporters would make Arsenal a fantastic club and the envy of other teams.

Olivier Giroud's barren run continues as he can't force a header on target. Arsenal's last home goal was on 4 April...
