Only 4.9% of you think Sunderland will be relegated. Hull, unsurprisingly, are your favourites for the drop.

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

The Emirates stunned from near silence to all-but-total silence after those two Sunderland chances. Can Arsenal raise their game? It's proving very tough for them to break down this stubborn defending. Olivier Giroud does clip the top of the crossbar with a cross but it was never going in.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:53 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

And again! Sunderland, from nowhere, create two great chances as they now spring Patrick van Aanholt free behind Hector Bellerin. He can't get enough power in his shot though and David Ospina saves with his feet.

Swansea set the template for a smash-and-grab win at Arsenal last time out, and now Sunderland have the best chance of the night! Adam Johnson picks out Steven Fletcher, but his shot is well clawed out by David Ospina!

Peter Parker: Come on Arsenal let's clinch second place! Make this season at least worthwhile.

Deldude: As a Chelsea fan. I want Sunderland beaten by Arsenal...and we take our pound of flesh on Sunday and send them to Championship.

Jeremiah Kariuki: Arsenal have over 70% ball possession, but very exposed at the back whenever Sunderland make a break! Another Swansea?

Arsenal have a running gag at our expense every week that there are 60,000 people at the Emirates. They've realised that they can't get away with it tonight so have revised the figure to 59, 897.

Just the 103 empty seats tonight, yeah?

Game on. Steven Fletcher is now up front on his own, so, so, so alone. His team-mates can only reach him by carrier pigeon.

Goonerama: I think we need a larger, slower vehicle to accurately describe what Sunderland are parking here. Crane? Ferry? Death Star?

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 20 May 2015

Double sub for Sunderland as Jack Rodwell and Steven Fletcher come on for Connor Wickham and Danny Graham.

Yanis Gbl: Arsenal to lose here against Sunderland and then lose again on Sunday - and Man Utd to beat Hull. Any chance?

David: The benefit of parking the bus in front of goal is you save energy not having to walk to the dressing room at half time.

Sunderland have Jack Rodwell and Steven Fletcher warming up at the break.

Fletcher is going to play on the left of the back eight, with Rodwell sitting in front of it.

Which footballer would you like to see on a bank note?

Dale in Peterborough: Put Andy Carroll on a £20 note that the shopkeeper will always hand back to you with a sad shake of the head.

Matt in London: Put Southampton's Sadio Mane on a few rogue notes in cash machines, but you only get two minutes and 56 seconds to spend it!

Antony in Banchory: Put any Dundee United player on a bank note. They won't have seen one before and would be a rare treat!

A reminder that if it stays like this then Sunderland will be safe, and Hull and Newcastle will fight for survival on the final day of the season on Sunday.

Arsenal will have all-but secured third place, though Manchester United would have to hammer Hull. Which would of course relegate them.

Got that? See me on Sunday.

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty at Emirates Stadium

"Very little of note to report from a dull first 45 minutes at Emirates Stadium - and Sunderland will be absolutely delighted with that. Halfway to the point they need to stay up."

Sule Sadiq: Think arsenal should stay on the pitch at half time and practice their shooting because so far it's been wayward.

Allan Abbas: Too many midfielders feeding one mediocre striker. Giroud depends much on form to score goals.

Damien Robson: Sunderland - just park the bus boys! No one will care if it means a point our way!

Everybody involved with Arsenal, fans, players and no doubt staff, are growing frustrated now. Sunderland have set Arsenal a 10-man defensive puzzle and the Gunners can't solve it.

Alun in Manchester: Sunderland playing like Chelsea. Boring!

James: As another nervous Newcastle fan I'm almost hoping for a Sunderland win! If Arsenal win Man Utd have nothing to play for. If Arsenal lose Man Utd can still reach third if they beat Hull on the last day and that might be the only way Newcastle survive this season.

Down to walking pace as Alexis Sanchez has the ball in the box and is faced up by five defenders. He has so much time but still can't pick out a team-mate.
