Mane departs without waving to all four stands or excessive applause to the home fans. It didn't look like a final farewell.

Dusan Tadic's second goal came from another impressive Southampton passing move, which included 12 passes and a good save from John Ruddy to initially deny Graziano Pelle.

Robbie Brady and Cameron Jerome are involved in a passionate long-range discussion about what tactics are required.

Brady is suggesting that Jerome make a few more runs in pretty stark terms.

Team news is just dropping for the day's second game, between Swansea and Manchester United.

United make two changes from the team which started against Brugge in midweek.

In come Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, with Adnan Januzaj and Michael Carrick out.

Jay Rodriguez is searching for his first goal in open play since his return from that long injury lay-off. He has spotted that the next fifteen minutes or so are a good hunting ground.

 The Southampton man cuts in off the flank and sends a curling shot just past the apex of post and bar. John Ruddy was just watching on.

Jay Rodriguez keeps the party jumping as he kills a pass into him with one touch, flicks it up with his second and then pings a shot just wide from a tightening angle with his third.

He is trying hard to impress.

This is like Groundhog Day. Graziano Pelle and Sebastien Bassong with a bit of push-me-pull-you in the penalty box as the cross comes in.

Pelle gets in front of his man, but heads off target and is immediately complaining of a shirt pull.

We've seen the same about three times already. None on its own warranted a penalty, but maybe he is hoping to build the pressure on Jon Moss.

Whomph! Graziano Pelle steps in and crashes a low shot right off the sweet spot of his instep. Edge of the area, arrowing towards the bottom corner, half of St Mary's think it is in.

But the ball brushed the wrong side of the sidenetting from a Saints point of view.

John Ruddy shanks his clearance kick straight to the feet of Sadio Mane who senses blood, swaying outside Sebastien Bassong and pinging a rising shot goalwards. 

Ruddy is equal to it though, beating the ball away. The Norwich goalkeeper then pulls off a similar stop from Jay Rodriguez.

All Southampton.

Cedric Soares bombs on down the right, but his cross is plucked out of the air by John Ruddy. Good claim.

Cameron Jerome might have left a sneaky one on Maya Yoshida there.

The Norwich striker lifts a knee into the hip of the Japan international as they go up together for a header.

That looked painful. Jerome escapes with a ticking off. Yoshida gets away with his pelvis intact.

Norwich get a rare position to pepper the Southampton penalty box with crosses. Sebastien Bassong has stayed up to add some aerial threat, but Nathan Redmond's cross is a duffer, far too close to Maarten Stekelenburg.
