"There will be an enormous sense of anti-climax that Southampton's first European campaign in more than a decade ended so quickly. Ronald Koeman's task is to see that his side bounce back immediately to end what is beginning to look like a worrying slump.

"The Dutchman will be only too aware that Southampton have won only one of their last nine Premier League games.

"Norwich travel to St Mary's boasting an unbeaten record in the league away from home in 2015. In fact, manager Alex Neil was still playing for Hamilton the last time the Canaries lost a league game away from Carrow Road."

Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes's proposed transfer to Turkish side Besiktas has collapsed.

A source close to Valdes said Besiktas attempted to change the terms of an agreed deal and the 33-year-old has now backed out of the move.

The Spain international has no future at Old Trafford after falling out with manager Louis van Gaal.

Meanwhile, there has still been no bid from Spanish giants Real Madrid for David De Gea.

  3. De Bruyne to complete City deal today?published at 13:14

Stand by your beds City fans.

Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur says today is the day that your side finally reel in £54m Kevin De Bruyne.

By my reckoning that will take City's summer spending out to a shade more than £150m.

Alex Neil is on the ground at Southampton.

His side have made an impressive start to life in the Premier League so far. Four points from their three games and they have scored in every game so far as well.

Both teams have played four, won four in the Continental Cup so far this season, so a big game in store. And a big crowd too by the sounds of it...

Saints unsettled midfielder Victor Wanyama has apparently got his heart set on a move to Tottenham and a reunion with Mauricio Pochettinho.

The price mooted is £20m. Which sounds toppy to me...

  8. Dante to Wolfsburgpublished at 12:49

Leicester's search for midfield golden oldies to replace Esteban Cambiasso continues.

Gokhan Inler is already in, but the Foxes were linked with Dante in today's newspapers.

They look set to be disappointed. Wolfsburg, soon to be flush with Manchester City's cash, are set to sign the 31-year-old.

What do you make of those line-ups? A little more pace and guile to Southampton with Dusan Tadic, Sadio Mane and Cedric Soares?

Boss Ronald Koeman has passed his own verdict on the absent Victor Wanyama. It's pretty damning.

Spiritually he is a top, top player though.

Wholesale changes for Norwich after their League Cup win at Rotherham in midweek as only Sebastien Bassong, Graham Dorrans and Jonny Howson keep their places.

The likes of Cameron Jerome, Wes Hoolahan and Russell Martin are among those who make a return.

    Thanks very much Andy.

What is going on at Southampton?

They have won just one of their last nine Premier League games keeping one clean sheet in the process, scored just two Premier League goals this season and have already been dumped out of Europe.

A defeat to Norwich today and questions will be asked. Team news in less than 10 minutes.

Swansea v Manchester United (16:00 BST)

Anyone got a gut feeling Manchester United could yet make a late bid to take Gareth Bale from Real Madrid? No, just me then.

The Wales forward scored twice on Saturday as Rafael Benitez enjoyed an emphatic 5-0 win over Real Betis in his first home game as Real Madrid coach.
