    English participation dwindles

How many English players do you think have played in the Champions League this season? Thirty? Forty? Fifty?

    Try 12.

It turns out Belarus and Croatia can claim to each be home to more Champions League players in 2015-16 than England.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Spain, with 59 players, leads the way. Brazil, with 53, is second.

The 12? Kieran Gibbs, Ashley Young, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott, Chris Smalling, Raheem Sterling, Gary Cahill, Joe Hart, Wayne Rooney, Phil Jones, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luke Shaw.

Why is only one defender on the shortlist?

    Mark Lawrenson
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 live

"Because there aren't many good defenders in European football in all honesty. Since Platini came in and tried to outlaw the tackle from behind, there's hardly even a tackle.

"It's basically turning into basketball. Defenders are frightened to death now."

Javier Mascherano is the only defender on the Ballon d'Or shortlist.

Thomas Muller says Bayern will keep a close eye on his international team-mate Mesut Ozil during tonight's fixture, singling the Arsenal playmaker out as a threat.

"Mesut is very lively," says Muller. "His left foot is outstanding and he's always got a great eye for a pass to a team-mate. His style of play fits perfectly to Arsenal’s game.

"Mesut can hurt anyone, especially in London, where I see Arsenal as being a tick stronger than when they play away. We need to prevent Mesut from playing those dangerous passes in the final third."

We like this one Lewis, your reference to "irritating" and "disliked" is nice and creative but we think it's Bees and not Wasps who have a queen.

So the question now that we've let you off is who would be Chelsea's queen?

German football journalist Thomas Kunze of ARD Radio reveals the nicknames given to Robert Lewandowski to Mark Chapman and the team on BBC Radio 5 live.

Kuntze says: "Right now he is the best striker on the planet. In the camp they call him 'Hercules' or 'The Machine.'"

On the rumored summer departure of Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola he adds: "The question is, will they get a manager like Pep Guardiola? They would be very, very disappointed. He is able to change their system even in the game and that is something we have not seen much in Germany before. That would be a hard legacy I think."

Are Arsenal the mirror image of Bayern Munich as a club? Fans? Success? Style?

Football writer Andy Brassell believes the two sides are very much alike and will explain why on BBC Radio 5 live at around 1930 BST. Ex-Arsenal striker John Hartson is part of the commentary team and will air his views too.

The pair join presenter Mark Chapman and commentator John Murray for a big night of coverage on 5 live, where you can listen to the game in full. And don't forget, you can call in and have your say after the match.
