For the umpteenth time, a Bayern player has got round the back of the defence. This time it was Philipp Lahm who had time and space. The finish was scruffy from Thomas Muller but it went in. It's almost time to cast the lifeboats.

A scruffy goal but Bayern won't care. Philipp Lahm's deep cross from the right is hooked back in by Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller is in typical space and he forces a shot home at the near post via a deflection off Per Mertesacker.

A really, really poor goal to concede.

Oscar is seeing plenty of the ball for Chelsea, with the Brazilian at the heart of most of the home side's brightest play. But, like the rest of his team, he is just lacking that killer final ball. The two red arrows into the box indicates misplaced passes.

Jose Mourinho turns to his backroom staff and throws his arms out in frustration as no Chelsea player is anywhere near another inviting cross from Willian, who has made an excellent start.

    Bayern Munich 1-0 Arsenal

To say that Bayern are playing in Arsenal's half is an understatement. Just over 20 minutes gone and only Bayern centre-backs Javi Martinez (8) and Jerome Boateng (17) are in their own half, according to the average positions.

    Bayern Munich 1-0 Arsenal

I'm not so sure that Joel Campbell has a future as an Arsenal forward, but he definitely doesn't have one as a full-back. And that is where he is being pushed all the time by Kingsley Coman, who skips past Campbell and gets the Costa Rican booked.

News for Arsenal and it's of the good variety. Dinamo Zagreb have taken the lead against Olympiakos, which means the Gunners will stay in contention for the top two spots in Group F even if they lose in Munich.

Cristian Tello has put Porto 1-0 up at Maccabi Tel Aviv. They look like coasting through to the next round.

Champions Barcelona are being held 0-0 against BATE Borisov at the Nou Camp, but midfielder Ivan Rakitic has been taken off holding his calf.

Chelsea continue to dominate but it's that old Achilles heel, a poor final ball into the box. Diego Costa is pulling out wide to get on the ball which leaves the penalty area empty too.

How many times has a Bayern Munich player got round the back and in behind the Arsenal defence? I would say around five or six in the first 20 minutes. Bayern always keep you penned in, they just don't allow you to get out.

Arsenal cannot get out of their half. Bayern Munich could probably have played Jay-Z at centre-back after all [see 19:12].

Jose Mourinho patrolling his technical area with a concerned look on his face, as you'd expect given current form. His side are very much on top tonight though.

And here's statistical evidence of what Phil McNulty has just told us about Chelsea's bright start. Chelsea are hogging the ball, and spending over a third of the game so far in Dynamo territory. The Blues have attempted four shots - but none, as yet, troubling the 'goals' column.

Arsenal had a goal disallowed and nearly gave away a penalty. They do not need to give Bayern any encouragement to get a second. Another goal conceded would be a sin.

  15. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:00

    Bayern Munich 1-0 Arsenal

Kingsley Coman weaving some magic on the Bayern left, he forces Joel Campbell into some defensive work and Campbell lunges in - he doesn't get a great deal of the ball! No penalty given.

Moments later Petr Cech has to save a curler from Robert Lewandowski. The Bundesliga side are all over Arsenal...

Chelsea continue to push on, looking for the opening goal. Nemanja Matic has a header across goal cleared but again an offside flag saves the day.

Well then! Arsenal have the ball in the net moments after the restart but celebrations are muted as the official behind the goal makes a big call.

Mesut Ozil turns in a cross but it is decreed that he uses his elbow to do so. Ozil is booked, the goal does not stand...

Robert Lewandowski looks yards offside but it is a brilliant finish. Gabriel steps up and the striker is on! You can't do that at this level.
