"For the first 25 minutes Spurs were excellent. Palace had been forced to play with caution, and a bit defensively, but they negated Spurs and are now starting to have much more of an influence on the game."

Crystal Palace are very much relying on their left flank on their attacks so far. Spurs (graphic on the left) are coming at their visitors from all angles...

"That was Crystal Palace's best effort of this first half, a great save by Hugo Lloris. Excellent goalkeeping. Bakary Sako got real whip on the ball.

"Spurs are just coming under a little bit of pressure now. Palace are growing."

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 37 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Good save, if a little bit overly dramatic, as Hugo Lloris flies to his left to tip over Bakary Sako's free-kick.

Palace, who are readying Frazier Campbell to come on, are ending the half well.

"Son Heung-min showed a real burst of speed to get beyond two Crystal Palace players there. And good play yet again from Dele Alli.

"They can be commended for the defending they've had to do so far, but Palace are very fortunate still to be on level terms."

I'm not sure Son Heung-min will ever look faster than now, as he takes 20 yards out of Brede Hangeland. Skinned him.

Spurs keep it well, Dele Alli drives in low and when Alex McCarthy coughs up the rebound, Harry Kane puts it right across the goalline from a tight angle!

    Unlucky.

"A couple of times in the last 10 minutes Spurs' wide players have taken the ball infield and there's been a bit of reluctance from the full-backs to overlap.

"They know that Crystal Palace have got the pace to hurt them if it gets turned over."

Son Heung-min has a shot well charged down by the Palace backline, which is sitting very deep today. No space in behind at all.

Well played! Great feet from Yannick Bolasie as he wriggles and dribbles his way thorugh two half-hearted challenges 30-odd yards from goal, he drives on and shoots from the edge of the box but it's deflected out for a corner. Palace beginning to look a threat now.

"On the few occasions they've had the ball in midfield, Palace have been too loose in their passing.

"I think Alan Pardew will be disappointed so far. His side have offered very little."

Some nice ebb and flow to the game now as Nacer Chadli hits a shot right at Alex McCarthy. Good tempo about this one.

The surprise, Danny, is that he is playing this well, this soon. Looks truly like he belongs.

Palace are set up to counter and do so for the first time, a nice flowing break ends with a dangerous low cross which is well cleared.

From the corner Brede Hangeland hooks in a shot on goal.

What is Erik Lamela, exactly? Will we ever know?

He has bags of talent, that much is clear. He glides past two men beautifully but then dithers, hesitates, and loses the ball.

Best moment of the game. Dele Alli wins the ball back with a sliding tackle, he then drives on 20 yards and finds Erik Lamela in the D. Lamela's first touch is delightful to bring the ball in and roll away from a defender all in one, he then fires in a left-footed shot which Alex McCarthy can't hold, but Harry Kane is not able to hook in the rebound.
