How many nutmegs will Spurs midfielder Dele Alli pull off today do we reckon?

The 19-year old seemed to have added a few more tricks to his repertoire in Thursday's 3-1 win over Azerbaijani champions Qarabag in the Europa League.

I still remember him embarrassing Luka Modric with pretty much his first touch in a pre-season friendly with Real Madrid this summer.

Liverpool, and indeed Manchester United, are in action come 16:00 BST.

But for now we will focus on the goings on at White Hart Lane.

Football writer Amy Lawrence: “I do have some sympathy for Brendan Rodgers, although there are things he’s done that certain Liverpool fans seem to find unforgivable.

"It looks like Daniel Sturridge will come back to being fit and that will be hugely important. But at the same time they've lost Jordan Henderson.

"To not have him the side when there is so much adjustment in the team, is really not helpful."

You don't get much time in football these days but Spurs fans may be interested to know that they are fielding the youngest starting XI of the Premier League season today.

Just over half an hour to go until kick-off at the Lane and both sides are flying through their respective warm-ups.

Wilfried Zaha looks in confident form. Could he cause the Spurs defence a real problem this afternoon?

Tottenham make five changes to the side which beat Qarabag 3-1 in their mid-week Europa League tie

That means a return for striker Harry Kane, who was given a breather against the side from Azerbaijan.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has gone back pretty much to the starting line-up that secured a first league win of the season at Sunderland a week ago.

Only midfielder Ryan Mason is missing through a knee injury with Eric Lamela coming in.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew also makes just one change.

Defender Scott Dann, who has started the season well, is missing through a calf injury sustained in training and is replaced by Damian Delaney.

Delaney takes the captain's armband after missing Palace's defeat to Manchester City last time out.

Football writer Amy Lawrence: “Spurs still look like they haven’t quite clicked into rhythm yet this season. But I’m interested to see how Son Heung-min gets on.

"There is a lot of expectation for him to take on coming into a new league, but I think he could be the difference."

Agreed. Crystal Palace and Leicester have been (arguably) the most exciting teams to watch so far this season. In my opinion.

Bakary Sako, Jason Puncheon, Wilfried Zaha and Yannick Bolasie all play up front away from home today. Attack!

MOTD commentator Steve Wilson: "Crystal Palace have been fantastic this season, they have become a really exciting team to watch.

"They have got bags of pace and there’s an aggressive attacking spirit in the side. They’ve taken big strides over the past two years, and Alan Pardew has picked up the baton and taken them on really well."

MOTD commentator Steve Wilson: "Let’s not forget that last year Arsene Wenger said the best strikers in the world are South American, because they are “street fighters”.

"You know what? I think Wenger would quite like to have Diego Costa in his team..."

  15. 'Spiteful Costa incident a nonsense'published at 12:36

    Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal

    MOTD2 Extra

Football writer Amy Lawrence: "What ‘narked’ me the most about what Jose Mourinho had to say about Diego Costa was that he played the game “in the way he had to play it”.

"I think it’s insulting to the intelligence of football fans to suggest that this is what they want to watch. I don’t want to see that kind of nonsense. When you look at the phenomenal players of this generation they don’t have to play with spite, and the desire to cause aggravation."

Diego Costa was lucky to stay on the pitch. I admire him in so many ways. He changed the dynamic of the side and won them the title last season. He was the catalyst and transformed the side, because they did not have a centre-forward. I like watching him, he winds people up and I would love him on my side every week.
