    Bradley Allen
Former QPR striker on BBC London 94.9

"Already you can see Dele Alli is having a big influence in this game. He's being encouraged to move forward with the ball, knowing Eric Dier is there behind him as insurance.

"Spurs have been cranking the tempo up. They're turning the screw."

All one way so far, as shown by the heat maps below (Tottenham left, Palace right).

That big blob right through the middle is nearly all Dele Alli. No action in the penalty area though.

"Spurs are ticking the ball really well through the midfield with short, fast, angled passes,

"They just need to find that little bit of final quality in front of goal, but the intensity of Spurs' play and the speed with which they're reclaiming possession means it's not happening for Crystal Palace right now."

Spurs have had 73% of the play so far. Dele Alli breaks into space, it all opens up for him and he should shoot instead of trying to thread the eye of a needle with a pass that is overcooked.

Erik Lamela wins a free-kick on the left as Spurs continue to dominate possession. Comes to nothing though and Palace look well drilled in shape and discipline.

Dele Alli seeing lots of the ball thus far.

"Spurs are looking to move the ball really quickly. This game is being played at a breakneck speed."

    Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

It turns out that Harry Kane has not scored at White Hart Lane since his hat-trick against Leicester in March.

It's perhaps no wonder then that he looks shy of confidence, moving well down the right wing but then checking in and putting in an awful cross with his left foot. Nowhere near a team-mate.

It's a bright start from this young Spurs side, keeping the ball well and moving it quickly too. Not always been the case when I've seen them before this season.

    Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

I've been hugely impressed with Dele Alli since he came into the Spurs side, it's always good to see talent from the lower leagues coming through.

He's playing deeper today, and starts a nice move which earns a corner. Corner comes in, Harry Kane has a totally free header seven yards out, but heads over!

Chance. Roy Hodgson winces in the stands.

Bob: Palace are being a little cocky and above themselves in the build up to this one. Hoping Spurs can bring them down a peg or two today.

"Alan Pardew knows he has got good attacking players but he doesn't want them to play totally gung-ho. He wants to try and find that balance, and with the likes of Yohan Cabaye, he can move from one style to the other, while controlling possession.

"It will really be an intriguing match here today."

Usual handshakes and back slaps from the two sides. And here we go!

How important is a win for Spurs today?

Mauricio Pochettino's men take on Arsenal next, in the League Cup on Wednesday night, before Manchester City come to town next Saturday.

Not a bad time to get your first home victory of the Premier League season then...

Joel Ejike Oblates :  Man, looking at that Palace starting line-up, they are filled with quality compared to Spurs bar Son Min. Palace to nick this.

Samuel Corney : I completely agree, quality Palace side and great odds too, just over 3/1!

Colin Todd : Cabaye was a great signing and a bargain at £13m
