Ashley Drouet on Facebook: Wasn't quite expecting it to be so comfortable today. Whether that says more about us or Swansea I'm not sure, but it was a very good performance and a much needed 3 points.

GOAL - Newcastle 1-0 Chelseapublished at 18:12 British Summer Time 26 September 2015

    Ayoze Perez (42 mins)

Schoolboy defending from Chelsea but a fine finish from Ayoze Perez. Kurt Zouma and Branislav Ivanovic neglect to head clear a cross from the right and Perez brings the ball down to finish off the post. Boom.

    Messi injury

It's not often you get a good honest managerial quote.

"I'm always sad when one of my players gets injured and even more when it's Messi," said Barcelona manager Luis Enrique after Messi was ruled out for two months.

"But we need to accept the challenge and understand that this is part of football and get through it. We will not change our style of play without Messi, although there are many moments in games in which Messi liberates us and finds solutions for us, so we'll have to strengthen in other areas and the team will have to step up without him."

    West Ham 2-2 Norwich

    Quote Message

When you concede with a minute to go, it is always disappointing but we will take encouragement from how well we played. We went for the winner and Nathan popped up but unfortunately we concede and it is not nice. I thought Nathan could have an impact on the game and we dominated the middle. The two team both went at it and tried to win the game and did well. I am pleased with the run but we had three points in our hands today. We have to do enough to get the points on the board.

  12. Shaqiri updatepublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 26 September 2015

    Stoke 2-1 Bournemouth

Stoke manager Mark Hughes: "It was an important win - we probably played better in other games and got beaten, this was about getting the three points. We played with a bit of apprehension in the second half which allowed them back into the game, but showed good courage after that as it would have been very easy for Bournemouth to gain momentum after their equaliser but we didn't allow that. Great ball by Glen Johnson for the goal, great finish by Mame Diouf."   (On Xherdan Shaqiri, who went off injured in first-half stoppage time) "I haven't had an update yet - it looked like a hamstring so we'll settle him down tomorrow, have a scan on Monday and see what the damage is. He walked off so hopefully it isn't too bad."

  14. 'Carroll is useful'published at 17:50 British Summer Time 26 September 2015

    West Ham 2-2 Norwich

    Quote Message

I am happy that we showed the character at the end and we deserved it. A draw is a fair result and they are probably gutted because of the timing of the last goal. All the teams we have played at home, apart from Newcastle, are all very energetic teams. They enjoy defending. If you match them in the awareness and the basics, then we are better than them on the pitch. If you drop yourselves, five or 10 percent, they use it and play well. We know what Andy Carroll brings us. He needs a few games to get to his best and was out for a long time. He is useful. It is not hard, but almost impossible to defend against him sometimes.

  15. 'Sturridge makes the difference'published at 17:45

    Liverpool 3-2 Aston Villa

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers told BBC Sport: "Our only disappointment today was the two sloppy goals we conceded, both down to mistakes. Thankfully today the two Daniels up front were outstanding. Sturridge showed what we missed for over a year – he makes the difference and helps you compete. His finishes were brilliant. He’s nowhere near 100% fit yet. There was a couple of moments when he’d be away at his best but wasn't today. His two goals were the difference.

"There’s a hysteria around the club. However criticism comes, whether deserved or undeserved, you don’t like it. What has surprised me with it is we’ve lost fewer games than Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal in all competitions. We’ve only lost two. There’s scrutiny on the players but it’s made us stronger. We know we have some top players to come back in. The players gave everything, I am proud of them. We looked creative and dynamic today."

  20. 'Not up to scratch'published at 17:37 British Summer Time 26 September 2015

    Southampton 3-1 Swansea

    Quote Message

We have not been up to scratch in the last two away games. We were not focused enough and possibly made too many mistakes today. They punished us and we never recovered from that. All three goals were disappointing. It was poor decision-making and individual errors. It's not good enough for the standard we have set here at the club. We pushed to try to get back. We got the goal then had a couple of chances to make it 3-2. It's difficult to assess straight after the game what went wrong.
