"Why do you think Alan Pardew left? He saw it coming. I think they will stick with Steve McClaren because you sack the manager and it doesn't work, they just keep sinking and sinking and sinking."

    Leicester 2-5 Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "We created many chances and I felt a game like this confidence was coming. I think we always looked dangerous.

"We managed to come back from 2-1 and after that I feel we dominated the game.

"Alexis was waiting for a goal and he's not used to not scoring for so long so it was important for him to score."

"In more than three years playing for Newcastle between 2002 and 2005, I don't remember any of our performances at St James' Park being seriously booed.

"One of the big things Newcastle have lacked over the last few years is an identity. By that I mean players on the pitch that the fans can relate to.

"Their turnover of players is just ridiculous, and I don't know how they can hope to get any type of continuity in their team.

"Their player recruitment strategy is all wrong too. They clearly needed to sign some established Premier League players over the summer, rather than taking a chance on some young talent from Belgium or France."

Wayne Rooney is closing in on another goal record, he now has the same amount of league goals for Manchester United as Dennis Law.

At this rate he could overtake Sir Bobby Charlton by, oooh, 2026?

  11. Wilson blow a huge losspublished at 17:01

    Stoke 2-1 Bournemouth

BBC Sport's Mark Mitchener at the Britannia Stadium: "Stoke finally rule at the Britannia - the stats will show the visitors had more possession, but with September running out, a first league win will be a huge relief for the Potteries faithful. Bournemouth had some bright spells, but the loss of star striker Callum Wilson to injury may be the hardest pill for them to swallow today."

  14. Player reactionpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 26 September 2015

    Liverpool 3-2 Aston Villa

Liverpool midfielder James Milner: "It says a lot about the team that we kept going and got the win. We needed that and hopefully we can kick on from here. We wanted to start with a good tempo and we did that. I think we had the better of the game - in terms of chances, possession and territory but the big man they had up front was dangerous. They got two goals and that's something for us to work on. It was about the three points today."
